This was the first Mindworm track to be written and largely came about by accident. It spurred me on to turn Mindworm into a full recording project. It is thematically about the inevitable (in my opinion) downfall of mankind if we continue to be utterly unable to put our differences aside and work together although, with a slightly silly twist.

The Day The Insects Inherit The Earth

This was the last Mindworm song to be completed despite being second on the album. It is a cover/ reinterpretation of a Pink Floyd song. Thematically this is to do with the futility of war.

Goodbye Blue Sky

This track was started halfway through the recording of Insignificant and is thematically linked. I thought it made a nice after thought and end to the album.

Insignificance

This was the second Mindworm track to be written. It is thematically about how in the grand scheme of the universe humanity is completely insignificant and will have no lasting effect on anything accept our own little lives.

Insignificant

This is the latest Mindworm track and was never intended for an album but came about from a jamming and looping session I had. The title came from a joking conversation with my house mate at the time when he said it contained all of the elements typical of my previous Mindworm tracks and was in fact Mindworm by numbers.

By Numbers

All the music I have here is from a recording project called Mindworm. It all happened rather accidentally and kind of snowballed into this. The tracks The Day The Insects Inherit The Earth, Goodbye Blue Sky, Insignificant and Insignificance are all part of an album I put together over a year starting around December 2008 called The Earth Stood Still. The latest track by numbers is not affiliated with any album, maybe it'll end up as a B-side.

So it's been around 6 years since I've finished anything for Mindworm! This EP came out of a failed band attempt from a few years ago. SOme of the music was written with various members of the band but the majority of what is here is mine. I was sad that it didn't work out was was keen to get the music recorded in some form. Hence I took it up as a Mindworm project. Paradigm Shift and Neptune's Daughter were originally written with said band. A Simple Exchange was written wholly by me. 

I have to thank several people who helped out in making this latest installment of Mindworm. Firstly Ed Evans for contributing bass on all the tracks, Jenny Mugridge for providing some vocals on A Simple Exchange and Adacto (https://soundcloud.com/adacto) for kindly mastering it for me.

I've already started work on a new song although with my track record I wouldn't hold you breath. .
