For its fourth release, Folklor Nation welcomes Berlin based (and club residents) duo CYRK with a versatile and eccentric four tracker: Out of the Pink. This new record shows a slightly different side of CYRK, between italo and space disco. 
On the remixes side, Alinka Offers a smart and sophisticated electro version of the title track, while Prins Thomas does what he does best and delivers a nu-disco anthem suited for the hot summer nights. Last but not least, Italo-Belgian duo Front De Cadeaux´s reinterpretation flirts with genres, a bit of electro, a bit of broken beats, always with their slow bpm hypnotic signature.

This time last year I was on my way to the Waiting Room while I was tuned in to Capital Xtra when I was blasted by a guest mix which sounded utterly insane. I found out it was Alinka and Shaun J Wright putting together the mix and i was hooked. 
Twirl is becoming something of a stateside institution in terms of the releases being put out and it is easy to see this one being played out for months to come.

Brain Dancing springs from a creative collaboration between Glasgow DJ alumni Rob Etherson, one half of techno outfit Mia Dora and a renowned mix engineer, alongside Ross Anderson co-founder of Sub Club residency I AM (now in its 8th year), graphic artist and creative programming director of The Berkeley Suite.  Brain Dancing operates as a monthly party, a studio project and a curated visual aesthetic. 

With both members having their own releases on Optimo Trax, their relationship with the Glasgow home scene is evolving and growing - Etherson with Mia Dora’s Un.Sub EP  in 2014, and Anderson on the Glasgow. London. New York. Edinburgh EP in 2015 (under his I AM DJ moniker Beta).

Channeling their dancefloor influences, from past masters of the rave and beyond, and fusing those with 21st century production techniques Brain Dancing present their 2nd EP on OMDD following a successful debut on BNR Trax.

@pyrame is the brainchild of David Naville, a traveller and cosmic poet living in Berlin who makes his debut to HIFI/LOFI Records following their releases and work with artists like Languages, Local Suicide, Atelier Francesco and
label boss @franz-matthews. ‘A Fine Life Remix’ EP sees PYRAME invite four exciting artists to remix this galvanising, cosmic package including Italian artist Rodion who has releases on Gomma and Les Disques De La Mort, London’s
Days Of Being Wild, Love On The Rocks’ artist Omer and French electronic masters Acid Washed, fronted by Andrew Claristidge.

‘Losing Control’ Days of Being Wild remix begins proceedings with effervescent oscillations, ecstatic pads in the distance and undulating euphoria before Omer’s remix of ‘Where Are We Now?’ deploys vibrant percussive loops, fluttering cosmic synths and enrapturing melodies.

Acid Washed then progresses into a chugged-out remix of ‘A Fine Life’ delivering low-slung bass grooves, tranquil pad sweeps and warming vocals until Rodion's interpretation of ‘Platonic’ finishes things off with acid-tinged elements, eccentric vocals from @moonwave_music and pulsating modulations keeping the energy flowing throughout. 

PYRAME ‘A Fine Life Remix’ EP is out now on vinyl via HIFI/LOFI Records.
