‘An Apparition’ introduces the hazy feeling of AutoClub’s ‘Apparition’ EP with a thundering kick, dubbed-out chords, and a mysterious vocal sample topped off with a funky 303 interlude. The A2 track, ‘CoupCoup’, then builds late-night suspense with looming strings and chords driven by deep, groove-soaked percussion. 

‘Molecular’ kicks off the B side with eerie vocal samples and gorgeous, otherworldly synth work, held together with a heavy broken beat and a morphing acid line. This is before ‘It’s You’ summarises the EP’s concept with a mesmerising exploration through propulsive percussion, deep bass and immersive, evolving chords. Lastly, ‘Delos Infidelity’ joins the release as a digital bonus with smooth, dreamlike melodies and detailed, interlaid grooves. 

Mike McClure and Craig Lambert form AutoClub. Craig, known as Midnight Music Club, and McClure, going by the alias of Autokinetic, join forces to create modern music rooted in old-school sound through live performance, blending futuristic electronic music with refreshing human qualities. They now land on Kajunga Records, a label with a discography spanning the left-field recordings of artists such as Lonefront, Heckadecimal, Ryote, and Lambert’s Midnight Music Club.

PREMIERE: AutoClub - An Apparition

Mats Lorenzon, aka Renzo is an electronic musician working on Wurundjeri land. An acoustic engineer by trade, Renzo harvests a panoply of samples, which are transformed into glitchy and multi-dimensional drum patterns. 

Accompanied by a forward thinking approach to synthesis, Renzo's sound nods to UK dubstep and drum n' bass, while still being firmly grounded in the current local sound. His productions distinguish themselves in their attention to detail — sweeping FM bass making use of the stereo field, while lush pads open up the groove, adding colour. 

With an ever growing catalogue of releases, Renzo continues to define himself as an adventurous producer, eager to play with genre, though untethered to its confines.

WE ARE RHYTHM (SPRAY REMIX Preview Clip)

Dawn Razor (@awnazor) and Archetech, two friends and two-thirds of the once-active trio Sonnen Blumen Kerne, have collaborated to deliver an album of tracks previously released exclusively on vinyl through Dawn Razor’s NARA Records. When Lobster Theremin ceased operations, the stock of these releases was lost, leaving only brief preview snippets online.

Adam approached HOMAGE with the story and shared the tunes with us. Moved by the situation, we decided to release all of the tracks as a retrospective album. Thus, 'Half Life' was born—a collection of 10 tracks that blur the boundaries between slammin' electro, breakbeat, and mutated bass, all with a minimalist edge.

'Half Life' will be available to stream and download from May 17th, 2024.

My last single Hey How Are You picked up support from industry heavyweights including Joseph Capriati, Richie Hawtin, DJ Brisk, Kenny Brain, Don Diablo, Gregori Klosman, DJ Ross, Raffa FL, and Sergio Matina.

This one dives a little deeper while staying true to my melodic sound.

Pleasure Planet is a dynamic New York City-based post rave collective composed of Kim Ann Foxman, Andrew Potter, and Brian Hersey. The trio's evolutionary journey unfolded through lysergic cycles of collaborative experimentation within shared studios, immersing themselves in the realms of machine-driven alchemy and nurturing their multidimensional sound. Bound by a shared creative vision and sharpened through countless late night studio improvisations, Pleasure Planet manifested into existence. Their personal approach to music-making infuses every strand of their sonic tapestry, sparkling with nostalgia for the genre-bending styles of their formative rave years, while simultaneously charting a course through unexplored skies, angling towards an alien horizon.

     Kim Ann Foxman, Hawaiian-born, New York-based artist, DJ and producer, was raised in the light of the San Francisco rave scene. Formerly a lead singer of Hercules and Love Affair, Foxman is now known internationally as a DJ, bringing her classic rave aesthetic while pushing future-leaning sounds. Andrew Potter, a veteran of the DC rave scene, and formerly one half of the electronic duo, Populette, is a producer who cut his teeth in the early 00s NYC nightlife, where he honed his skills in basement clubs and the studio. Brian Hersey, long a wanderer of the underground and club scenes of NYC, brings his eclectic sensibilities to the sonic mosaic of Pleasure Planet, cultivated through his explorations with the bedroom electronica of Ciao.

     SELF:TIMER is the label created by Foxman and Potter as a home system for Pleasure Planet, and anything else that fits their brand of the psychedelic, weird and wonderful. Together, they hope to bring this sound to your world sometime soon, at your pleasure.
