We also wanted to say a massive thank you to Fetish House for being so accommodating throughout the entire process of this shoot. Fetish house is the only building in Victoria that was specifically constructed to be a brothel catering to the spicier side of life. It was an awesome experience.

Introduce yourself? Pronouns? Where do you currently reside? 

Hii I’m Mabel. I'm a 23 yr old DJ/producer & visual artist. I use she/her and currently I reside in Naarm, known as Melbourne in Australia. 

Describe your walk around where you live

Residential suburbia mixed with really random nature moments. I live in the same suburb I grew up in so it's very familiar and nostalgic. Extremely FLAT landscape until you come across the creek nearby that creates a surprising amount of cliffy bush walks which also is one of Melbourne's most popular doof locations.

What would you like to see in the future for the dance community?

I want to see the scene down here reignite. We lost a lot of clubs over recent years and laws were introduced regarding illegal doofs. The general vibe has lowered a lot post covid. There’s a lot of reminiscing about the parties filled with sweaty dancers, naked bodies, insane outfits, etc. Parties that were just fun and freeing. I hope these things come back. They were definitely the reason I became obsessed with Djing.

EDIT: After current events unfolding in Palestine, the Israeli born founders of HÖR Berlin have admitted to censoring Palestinian messaging on their channel as they said they had concerns of it being "offensive". Artists have requested their sets be removed from Youtube as an act of solidarity. I have also asked to have mine removed as I stand with Palestine and don't agree with censoring artists who speak out against genocide.

"This mix stays pretty playful. Currently I am feeling quite inspired by tight percussion and groove. I like the way our bodies tend to naturally lock into certain rhythms on the dance floor. I like to imagine this mix being listened to in many situations but my favourite would be on the car ride to a doof or festival. In Australia, the road trips we take through the barron country to get to doofs are often very long but exciting. This is where most mixes get ran through I would say."
