During Milhões de Festa 2014, Black Bombaim got together with Isaiah Mitchell, Rodrigo Amado and Shela for an afternoon jam in the gardens of Casazul, a recent but important art space in their hometown Barcelos. This is a live recording from the audience, not from the mixing desk. The release wasn’t planned, but we were lucky Duarte Ferreira was there to capture it.

The show ended abruptly since the police raided the stage and pulled off Isaiah’s guitar cable from the amplifier.

Kenyan,, Uganda-born and raised @MCYallah links up with frequent collaborator @Debmaster on debut LP 'Kubali'.

It's only right for an album from one of East Africa's brightest MC talents to land on one of the region's brightest labels so, with that in mind, it should come as no surprise that the LP is scheduled for release on @HakunaKulala, the flourishing sister label to @Nyege-Nyege-Tapes.

Coming in at 11-tracks, our pick of the bunch just had to be 'Nasonga'. With a weighty, murky instrumental that fuses forward-thinking Kampala bass flavour with motifs reminiscent of dark, dubstep-ish Bristolian fire, MC Yallah and her hard, cold flow ride the beat like a pro. 

The 'Kubali' LP releases on Hakuna Kualala on September 27.
