Hometown workout set!

We’re stoked to host Brooklyn-bred artist Bayli, the multi-talented singer-songwriter known for her undeniable bops and celebration of the queer music community. 

Bayli had a big 2023, guest performing with Mura Masa at Coachella and supporting Slayyyter on her US four. the genre-blending artist is just getting started though - she’s working on her debut album and we can’t wait to hear it!!

Bayli’s Workout Set is our most eclectic mix yet, weaving through Afro-dance genres, funk, and even jazz - a combination that’s sure to stimulate your mind as you exercise your body. 

On her mix, Bayli says, “I like to stay active by doing mostly cardio because it keeps me stage ready - so cycling, running, morning walks and hot/ vinyasa yoga, which used to be my main but I’ve slowed down with it a bit recently, though I’m trying to get yoga popping again! I also do little things everyday, like stand on the subway or take the stairs to keep my body active, which isn’t super hard in an active-ass city like NYC. 

This mix shares perspective on what’s been inspiring me lately. aAlot of African music (amapiano, and house. with a few analog oldies sprinkled in because I’ve always been an old soul, IYKYK). And since i was in my Strawberry Western work out mode I wanted to create a lively and healing mix that you could work out or move your body to. Every song in this mix is super rooted and rhythmic, and you just can’t help but move your feet to it… that’s how i want people to feel listening to my mix. Inspired + healed + sexy/ that bitch, always that bitch."

Hello everyone! It’s an honor to host the Somali, Oslo-based artist @swankmami-music for our newest Workout Set. The up-and-coming singer-songwriter made a huge splash last year with her Eurostar EP (out via Honeymoon), which was one of the most refreshing takes on pop/dance music that we’ve heard recently. 

Known for her “crying in the club” anthems, Swank Mami is already rubbing shoulders with industry big shots, having featured in Travis Scott’s Circus Maximus movie, and is soon to be opening for 21 Savage in Norway. 

Her mix for Strawberry Western is a vibey, bouncy blend of rap classics (both new and older), amapiano beats, and icy European club bliss. 

On her curruent workout routine, Swank Mami says “I stay active by going to the gym! Right now my obsession is pilates and strength training so when I work out, the music needs to be a good balance of “oop i wanna dance" but also motivating enough to finish your reps. Summer right around the corner so we gotta get tewww it 🤭”
