Whenever it’s time to drop something smooth and soulful, VJP is always The Man. And it’s some good stuff that he is delivering here. “Say it with Vinyl” is a kind of flashback to a time where house music and soul were co-existing perfectly, stitching together a fine-textured deep house.
This live set throws us to the depths of a heartfelt selection. Slightly jazzy yet groovy as hell, the feminine vocals are definitely bringing something luscious and sensual. 
The first part of the set constitutes a happy tribute to the quiet storm era, introduced worldwide by the like of the UK band Sade and a few others. Once upon a time, smooth grooves defined the modern soul and pop music was dreamier and somehow mystical. Later on this one-hour selection, we are backtracked to the 90s with a deep house revival, not without reminding us of the 1991’s hit ‘Gypsy Woman’ by Crystal Waters.
VJP creates here with ten or so vinyl a quality patchwork. The tracks are sewn together to unfold an eccentric and stylish set.
It’s a compilation of sweet keyboard riffs, modest electric guitars and poetic melodies, all incorporated here as reference points to shape a revival of the golden era of dance music, a genre inspired of smooth jazz, R&B and of course funk and a bit of rock.
VJP has crafted a vintage composition that elevates our longing for more hours of musical enjoyment.
