Merry Christmas everyone! The Yo Snap Records roster decided to collaborate on a Christmas Mixtape, and this is DJ Hockeypowder's contribution! As you will probably notice, the track is quite anti-climatic. ''Et Juleevangelium'' is a song by the Norwegian hip hop-group ''Klovner i Kamp''. It was released in 2005, and details the events of The Nativity of Jesus (cf. Wikipedia). It was even featured in the Norwegian blockbuster movie ''Pitbullterje'', also released in 2005. When DJ Hockeypowder sat down to make this remix/edit, he used Free Audio Editor more than FL Studio. He had already made the drop as a test project several months ago, and discovered that when he pitched ''Et Juleevangelium'' and raised the tempo, that and the drop almost fitted together. So he did that. He is absolutely infuriated with certain aspects of FL Studio and it's interface, and this is therefore somewhat of his own personal boycott. It's also worth mentioning that he STILL doesn't have the full version. With all that aggressiveness out of the way, DJ Hockeypowder wishes you all a joyful advent and a blissful Christmastime with friends and family!

Klovner i Kamp - Et Juleevangelium (DJ Hockeypowder Edit)

When DJ Hockeypowder was 8 years old, he played Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets for Game Boy Advance. He loved it. He was a child, of course, but even in the keen eyes of a critic, the game is pretty decent, especially for a movie-based game. It has great graphics, solid gameplay and a stellar soundtrack by the legendary Jeremy Soule, who also made the soundtrack for several The Elder Scrolls games. DJ Hockeypowder's initial favorite song from the game was Aragog's Theme, but this song appeared in more games than just the GBA release of CoS, so he decided to pay homage to Jeremy Soule with a remix of the theme that plays while traversing the Hogwarts Grounds. This tune is spectacular, and has ultimately grown more on DJ Hockeypowder than Aragog's Theme. Of course, this remix isn't close to doing the original justice, so luckily, the amazing DJ Terranova MC, Terrornova and Spaceboyz, DJ Hockeypowder's fellow Yo Snap Records artists, made remixes of the song as well! "Pickelhaube Auf" er en fiktiv fortelling basert på virkelige historiske hendelser. Eventuelle likheter mellom karakterene fremstilt i verket og virkelige personer er tilfeldig og utilsiktet.

Året er 1917. Den første verdenskrigen herjer Europa, og ved den lille landsbyen Passchendaele i Vest-Belgia utkjempes et spesielt skrekkelig slag. En ung tysk soldat opplever her å miste alt: ben, venner, og til slutt forstanden. I sitt livs mørkeste time, omgitt av øredøvende artilleri, maltrakterte lik og altoppslukende gjørme , får han dog en åpenbaring. Han forstår hvem han er og hva han har kjempet for. Dette er hans historie.

Forfatterens kommentar: "Pickelhaube Auf" er en postmodernistisk komposisjon i alle aspekter. Teksten følger ikke noe spesifikt mønster eller rytme, og er skrevet på hensiktsmessig gebrokken tysk, da grammatiske regler hemmer det litterære anslaget. Instrumentalen, produsert av den brilliante Slim Juls, stimulerer underbevisstheten og inviterer til sjeleransakelse, samtidig som den dystre tonen på overbevisende vis fanger essensen av teksten. Lydeffektene bidrar ytterligere til atmosfæren, og skaper sterk kontrast til det intrikate melodiske opus.
