Brighton-based DJ and producer Gui unleashes Night Terrors on Mustard Music’s first V/A compilation, a ferocious drum and bass track built for the rave. Askel & Elere AKA Juho Kavasto and Sainey Gibba have been busy bees lately, with their ‘Local Support’ EP landing in June serving as the latest reminder of their seriously slick sonic skills. They’ve turned their hands to Circumference’s ‘Pyramid’ as their contributions to the ‘10 Years of Soulvent: The Remixes LP’ and it was certainly worth the wait! The original is taken from Circumference’s stand-out debut EP ‘Breathe’ released back in 2021, with the title track sitting at close to 2 million streams. 

‘Pyramid (Askel & Elere Remix)’ kicks off with some monumental atmospheres that will make you think you're staring up from the base of Tutankhamun's house. The drop ushers in extra levels of bassweight, including all manner of distorted growls, swells and towering tones. Askel & Elere’s trademark “sci-fi liquid” sound palette is unmistakably clean & crisp, and perfectly complements the epic, sonic sharpness of the original. With the drums perfectly parting the sea of swelling sub bass, Rick O Connell and Imhotep would be proud of this isometric powerhouse of a remix.

Jake Hicks & Jack Pike, aka Hillsdom, have been making music together for years after meeting at school. We welcomed Hillsdom to the Soulvent Records family back in October 2024 with ‘Good 4 U’, an uplifting, high energy, feel-good banger - laden with lush pads and big bass notes. Then we had them join the 10 year celebrations in May 2025 with a more gully offering in ‘Jynx’. Now they're back, following this up quickly with ‘Restless’. A more laid back affair but giving them opportunity to show even more of the capabilities they have in the locker.

The airy intro slowly brings in the hi-hats with increasing speed but whilst the arrival of the drop may catch you by surprise, the content within is absolutely as you’d expect. A driving bassline, guttural bass stabs and snappy drums come together and result in a dark liquid roller that sounds great in headphones and on sound systems.

Don’t sleep on ‘Restless’ the latest offering from Hillsdom, which lands in all good stores on 18th July.

Veteran word-slinger Visionobi, aka Richard Twaites, is no stranger to the Soulvent camp. After releasing his debut LP ‘Weather The Storm’ on the label back in 2023 to great acclaim, he then followed it up with the notably introspective ‘Open Book’ EP in 2024. Returning once again to his soul-soaked home, we are thrilled to announce another follow-up release, this time in the form of the Modus Operandi EP! 

Opening track ‘Smog’ gets to work with the sort of dark & ominous mood that the title suggests. Picture murky skylines and end-of-the-session grit, brought to life by Visionobi’s laid-back delivery and fitting vocal processing. The rolling drums, driving bassline and eerie top notes provide the space and the metronomic tempo to allow Visionobi's thought provoking bars to act as a beacon in the haze.

Their decline is a stark reminder of the urgency to act against global warming and protect fragile environments before it’s too late. We will donate all proceedings from this release to Polar Bears International.

Collision and Continuum both showcase his sharp production and relentless drive, balancing energy with detail in signature style. Low5, born in Roermond started out as a drummer in his basement. After a few years he got in touch with the ‘Bass-genre’ we know today as it is. On that day in 2013 he made a decision, he was going to produce these songs that he so much liked.

With his background as a drummer he’s got flow, and isn’t afraid to show it.
Low5 stand for good music, music that comes from within, music not just to dance on but also music which touches your heart.
