Pendant les deux premières semaines d'avril, Andrin s'est retrouvé coincé dans l'est de la Suisse, sans pouvoir rentrer à Vienne. Je l'ai donc invité dans mon home studio. Là, nous avions un processus de travail simple : j'enregistrais un morceau bancal, il écrivait des paroles et les testait pendant que je prenais un bain, parce que je ne supporte pas d'entendre les gens chanter…
Nous ne savions pas vraiment quoi faire des ces productions, mais lorsque j'ai été contacté par Jean Rémy de Choléra Cosmique me demandant si je voulais sortir quelque chose avec eux, c'était tout vu.

A line from the Lysistrata, a Greek play about a group of women who decide to use unconventional methods to end a war which their husbands had engineered. Almost 2500 years after Aristophanes wrote the Lysistrata the world is still being run by angry men. 
TONN  Recordings are two years old and to celebrate they have put out the compilation 'Intersection'. A collection of Nu-Nu Wave tracks, one of the highlight of these is 'Here Come the Angry Men' by Le Cliche and This is the Bridge.
A snarly analogue Cold Wave track which could just as easily be the sort of thing which you chance across while scouring youtube for obscure 80s forgotten gems as buying a hip compilation from one of the most prolific left of centre labels. Taking cues from Gary Numan and Soft Cell in spirit but bringing something new to the table. Probably best you head home, because here come the angry men.

A5 Las Eras - Necesidades Primarias (RMR 005)

The music of the band is deeply influenced by and related to the experimental electronic music of the late 1970s and early 1980s, that was made in Sheffield by bands like The Future/The Human League, Vice Versa, Cabaret Voltaire, or by the formerly in Preston based musician Colin Potter and a few American avant-garde artists, pioneering in electronic music, like John Bender, etc.. Although the band is very careful in creating a minimal electronics sound, obviously appearing vintage in itself, it is produced in a hybrid way, by using analogous procedures and modern techniques of production as well. So in the end Lower Synth Department is concerned with post-minimal electronics so to speak.
 
The name of the band is related to at least three different references, which intercommunicate and therefore depict the sound of the band: first to the cold aesthetics of modernist, especially brutalist architecture, which conveyed and expressed a very dehumanized attitude to life from the 1950s till the 1960s, that still affected even the 1980s. Second, technically speaking, to the low frequency oscillator, which creates a rhythmic pulse or sweep and is often used to modulate synthesizers, delay lines and other audio equipment in order to create effects used in the production of electronic music, while the final reference derives from the band's name abbreviation.
