Greg Ayers is a Detroit based guitarist and musician. Originally hailing from Virginia, he started out singing and playing tenor saxophone at a young age. In his early teen years he discovered guitar and found a deep passion and love for the instrument. While primarily playing church and rock in his early years, he later settled into more complex jazz sensibilities.

Along with a Bachelor's in Jazz Performance, Ayers’ portfolio of work includes collaborations with artists like: Tony Blackman, Grammy Award winning Michael League (Snarky Puppy), Nikki Glaspie (Beyoncé and The Nth Power), and Alex White (James Carter Organ Trio). Working with such talented musicians has driven Ayers to grow in creativity and skill.

Most recently, Ayers has been working as a side man for several Detroit artists, in addition to actively booking his own groups.
