@eafhmlive is a hard-to-find artist, maintaining a low profile in the city. Although we occasionally see him perform, he dedicates most of his time to releasing meticulous pieces of deep techno, breakbeat, and ambient. His way of playing is versatile but always maintains a line towards the dark and deep with a wide sound spectrum. As an audio engineer, EAFHM is constantly working on the releases of his label, SECUENCIAS TEMPORALES, which is a very active label and hosts some very interesting artists from different parts of Europe and all continents in general. A few weeks ago, the label celebrated its fifth anniversary and more than 74 releases with two compilations, 'VARIOUS HEARTS YEAR FIVE' A and B, where you can appreciate the characteristic sound of @secuencias_temporales.

As one of our favorite projects, we invited EAFHM to an edition of LISTENING ROOM, where we could enjoy his music through our hi-fi system instagram.com/p/C4Xy9gKuna1. Months later, he surprised us with an impressive session of Breaks and Ambient.  

HERE IS A SHORT INTERVIEW WITH EAFHM ◢

● Who are you, what do you do, and how do you define your music?
▍I am Jorge. What do I do? Well, I decided to dedicate part of my life to sound and the emotions it carries. Although I may not be the best, I always give it my all. It's something that keeps me nourished (emotionally) and happy; even though the amount of music I share or publish is decreasing, there is not a day I don't work with sound. My music is always in constant change. I couldn't define it. That’s something complicated for me since a large part is sonic experimentation. Sometimes it has a more techno, IDM, breaks focus... maybe my music and I are somewhere in between all of that.

● What can we expect to hear in this recording?
 ▍Strident snares, somewhat melancholic atmospheres, and without a doubt, a great presence of powerful and unruly basses.

● What would be your ideal setup to play this recording?
 ▍I think any stereo player, but with a good sub or bass player that adequately reproduces the Low and Subsonic frequencies. Otherwise, you will miss a big part of the power, sensation, dynamics, and emotion of those basses responding to the snares that give character to this session.

● Which track from this mix is your favorite?
 ▍The closing track, "Tear Down The Walls," by FIESTA SOUNDSYSTEM. 

● When making a mix, what is more important to you: structure or improvisation?
 ▍I think both are equally important. Improvisation is always fundamental at the beginning. However, I usually practice each session or performance repeatedly, defining the right route or structure for development. I do this until I reach the climax I’m aiming for, and then I work on giving it an appropriate outcome.

● What was your last music purchase?
 ▍NOW OR NEVER is a double vinyl and the third compilation of the BAOX label by my friend G13CK. In my opinion, it’s very stylized and nostalgic electro.

● Do you have any news from EAFHM for the world?
 ▍I don't know. I'll keep working hard in silence, with interesting releases for those who are interested. As long as it reaches a couple of ears that value it as much as yours, I think all the effort will have been worth it.

A recent sonic memoir from a beautiful evening, playing a vinyl only (almost) set. Recorded under a snowy winter morning somewhere in the outskirts of Stockholm in December 2024.

This was by far one of the best Stockholm underground events that's happened the past 10 years. Massive props to the Stilio crew for their excellent effort.

Lower Level is the alias of an electronic musician and DJ based in Scotland. He draws inspiration from themes such as artificial intelligence, extra-terrestrial contact, and altered states of consciousness – expressing them through a dark and gritty orchestration of heavy-hitting sci-fi sounds. After years in the studio creating tracks and edits, he is now releasing his back catalogue through his own label, whilst continuing to push things forward with new productions and projects.

He has played at various raves and club nights – most notably as a resident of the infamous after-hours parties on Cheapside Street, which gained a cult following before the venue was targeted and closed down by police. His sets are a deep and driving journey through the history of techno and trance, which pay full attention to the dance floor and no attention to fashion.
