Ever since he was an infant, Freekwenzee (real name Koda Martin) had an ear for music, starting simple with a little Yamaha PSS-130. Soon after, he evolved to a Casio SK-1, then took his hand at music production on a computer, using OpenMPT when he started in 2015.

Much of his oldest music, composed between 2015 and 2019, is considered lost media, as Martin had lost the project files when the hard drive in his computer eventually died. However, Martin was able to recover some of the old tracks, the oldest being "cloxx", which was composed in July 2016.

After the hard drive death, Martin decided to move on from music trackers and made the transition to FL Studio in 2020. After a few months of working with FL Studio, Martin made the switch to Ableton Live towards the end of 2020. He has been using Ableton Live since then, as well as Renoise, Fasttracker II, and Impulse Tracker.

Martin has released music under a variety of pseudonyms. Some include "4rri5", "cakeghost", and currently, "Freekwenzee". Martin has not used the "4rri5" name since 2020, and has not used the "cakeghost" name since 2022. Martin once said in an interview in late 2022, "By releasing my music under so many different names, it's a way of confusing people for my own amusement. Yeah, call me an asshole, haha."

Because he doesn't feel like renting a venue, Martin does his live performances from his backyard, occasionally live on Twitch.
