" Cotton Mill Girls"  is one of the first song Tim Lowly learned to play on guitar.  The song is traditional but sometimes credited to Hedy West.  Various sounds in the song are from a Scottish cotton mill.

The interlude is from the Irish/Scottish folk song "Wild Mountain Thyme".

Baby Mountain is a diminutive Chicago-based ensemble that takes it’s cue (and name) from a mysterious woman who says very little while tilting towards the center of things.

At one time there was a group called "The Lowly Ensemble" (see https://timlowly.bandcamp.com ).  As that band dissolved Tim Lowly and Karima Walker (https://soundcloud.com/karimanorma) did a tour together and Baby Mountain slowly came in to being.  Soon after Katie Cooper joined Baby Mountain and over the course of the following year the trio played numerous concerts.  Alas, Karima and Katie were soon to move to other parts of the world so Baby Mountain spent three days recording with Neil Strauch at Engine Studios in Chicago in the dead of the winter of 2012 .  Those recordings formed a base that would be substantially expanded and edited over the next few years.  Following are the list of participants / contributors:
