My song makes an attempt to create a minimal techno song. I used four elements: bass line, snare, hi-hat, and kick. Using the same bass line, I had various changes throughout the song such as changing the rhythm of the kick, snares, and hi-hats or using different sounds for the hi-hat. These changes do not completely change the song as a whole, but give a slight variation of the same theme. Enjoy!

The goal of my song is to take a song, sample it, and add effects to create a new song while keeping the same sounds of the old song. Using the song Married Life (Pixar's Up theme song), I took snippets of the song to create my electronic track. I rearranged the main themes of the song and added pitch shifts, duplications of the same sound, reverb, and other effects that culminated to my final product. Hope you guys enjoy!

The special sound project required me to take a sound object and record its sound. The object I chose for my project was the wheels of my longboard because it's a daily object I use everyday and recording its sound would allow me to hear something that I don't really hear on the daily. Since I use my longboard a lot, they sound a bit scratchy and squeaky, hence the name of my piece. I recorded the wheels using Ardour's record function and came up this piece. Enjoy!

I wanted to create a track that represents natural sounds that I hear everyday. I call this track "The Daily Grind" because it represents what a typical day would sound like through my ears. First, you hear the coffee pot, representing morning. Then you hear the skateboard wheels and birds representing the afternoon. Finally, the last part is waterdrops and the teapot, representing nighttime. Since I wanted to keep the natural sounds, I decided not to use plugins and just added some fade outs and changed the region gain of some parts of the track.

The goal of this track was to create an ambient piece. Using SuperCollider, I was able to create the harp sounds that are used in the piece. Using Ardour, I took rain sounds from Freesound and used them to add to the harp sounds created from SuperCollider. From there I played with the gain and created my piece. It starts off with heavy rainforest rain, which eventually leads into rain from a rural area and then ends with the heavy rain from the first part. My overall goal was to create music that someone could listen to and allow them to relax and enjoy the sounds.

I created this track using recordings of an electric razor, a fan powering down, the beeping of a microwave, and a xerox copier. Using Hydrogen, I created simple beat patterns and played them one by one or together at the same time to create this piece.
