The story I had in mind is about a young man who is head over heels in love with a woman that he deems to be too good for himself. He struggles to understand what she sees in him (hence ‘make believe’) part of him morbidly believes that she is being unfaithful but he has no evidence. Paradoxically this very same lack of evidence is maddening causing him to develop a deep paranoia. Every time she spends time away from him he assumes the worst (‘you feed the villain…’) The haunting back vocals I added were to demonstrate this feeling of a malevolent voice inside one’s mind echoing only the worst thoughts.

Make Believe

24 year old with a hand-me-down guitar and a proclivity for poetry. This is the ultimate form of expression for me, being able to turn poems into (admittedly just demos at this stage) something I can hear and feel has been very rewarding so far. My main inspirations are Nirvana but especially Kurt Cobain (any Montage Of Heck enjoyers?) but also bands like Placebo and BMTH for their lyrics.
