Lloyd Reign was born Ernest Lloyd Boumah Akanda in 1987 in Libreville, Gabon (Central Africa). Lloyd was introduced to music after Akon’s first concert in Gabon in 2003 as he had back stage pass before the concert. “I had a vision as I saw this mega star on stage in that then empty stadium, and told myself this is what I wanna be”. Lloyd then joined forced in 2005 with a childhood friend Georges Kamgoua Jr “Kiks” and Josick Plumel “Spirit” whom he recently met through a mutual friend in order to start recording some songs. Lloyd later contacted a young singer (Christian Aperano AKA Apollon) he had recently met in order to add something great to the team. Lloyd was then “Nemezis”, and 3 weeks later Still so High “SSH” was born. In 2006 the group SSH signed to Kage Pro and made a sensational debut with their most popular song “Me Gusta” written by Lloyd. Other hits surfaced such as “Manito” and “Miss” which earned the group the award for the best RNB Group of Gabon is 2007. Lloyd was then in the US as a new college student since December 2006. The solo career starts very slowly for Lloyd as new challenges start emerging. The group’s productivity also takes a hit due to the physical separation the group faced. The group’s members then followed independent careers with in mind the possibility to make a comeback. Lloyd put out a few singles such as “Side to side” and “Fly”, but the major change came with his signature with the label “Boss Playa” in 2013. With the new stage name “Lloyd Reign”, he moves from Atlanta to Miami and put out his biggest solo song to date “Wanna be with you” feat “Muss” which entered the likes of Trace TV and radios across the globe. It is then the beginning of a new era in which Lloyd went from local sensation to an international artist. In 2015 SSH’s member reconnected and came out with that unique and melodic signature sound of theirs on the song “Face a Face”. It then marks the return of the 3 brothers but on the international scale as they all took their talent to Europe for this single. New projects, new hits and new singles to be released, Lloyd as a singer songwriter and composer is climbing his way up to the highest level of his craft with the release of the single “Tryna be somebody” in June 2016. Innovative, creative and always dreaming, Lloyd is the proof that achievements start with thoughts. As a musician, singer, songwriter this soulful and uniquely talented young singer is on his way to redefine your vision of life.
