New single ‘Live Your Life’ is a prime example of how the band seamlessly blend meat hook sharp melodies with vertebrate snapping riffs. The band are not your run of the mill rock band, crushing beers against their skulls, Alpha Twins music and lyrics deal with deeply personal issues and experiences. ‘Live Your Life’ is an especially lyrically complex song written after someone close to the band took their own life. A deeply saddening event which unfortunately is all too close to the band as Tomas (vocals/guitar) lost his brother under similar circumstances. Despite the incredible emotional weight of the track it carries a message of hope and a reaffirmation of positivity in the darkest of times. Having music to act as a lightning rod to channel these complex issues the track offers catharsis for the band. Finding this resilience and renewal in the face of such tragedy is the core of ‘Live Your Life’, life is for living not simply surviving. Musically the track focuses on simplicity, coming in at 2 minutes 30, it’s a lean and focused approach to song writing. Every note serves a purpose and every beat is an exclamation mark punctuating the melody. The magic of Alpha Twin comes in this duality, the ability to craft pop like melodies over riffs and song structures that could flatten entire cities.
