Italy’s DJ Pasta readies the funk-laden ‘Batadoris Too’ EP on Brooklyn’s toucan sounds this May.

Opener ‘Piffero’ sees post-disco and Central American influences fuse together alongside dusty live percussion and a hypnotic flute riff for a lively and energetic start to the six-track EP, followed by ‘Waxing Moon’ with a grooving disco bassline and sizzling drum breaks to provide the perfect backdrop for Brooklyn native Sebastian Adés’ sultry vocal performance.

‘Tamborghini’ brings Moog-y synths to the forefront alongside a stuttering soul orchestra, moving into ‘Juno Lido’ which employs flickering arpeggios and rocking drum patterns for an addictive and highly danceable track. ‘Arrivederci’ follows, taking a dive into emotive, late-night territory with washed-out pads and driving leads, before an instrumental version of ‘Waxing Moon’ rounds out the release.

DJ Pasta, real name Davide Piva, was previously involved with Amari and Fare Soldi, the latter of which had remixes and originals on labels such as Kitsune, Southern Fried, and Ministry Of Sound. Turning his sights now to toucan sounds, an imprint that has championed musclecars, Haruka Salt, and Brandon Markell Holmes, DJ Pasta finds a welcoming home for his disco excursions in the Brooklyn-based label.

French producer Vigi returns to Slightly Transformed with a three-track EP. 'Show Me' itself is up first and has a late 70s/early 80s feel, with classic disco strings married to a more boogie-esque male vocal. 'Feel This Love', which follows, drops the tempo and has a hazy, laidback feel that means it would slot well into Balearic sets. The package is then completed by 'Sundown', wherein a full male soul vocal and understated beats are served up in wobbly, warping fashion ? la Lemon Jelly, Bent et al. Classy stuff all round, but 'Show Me' takes the gold.

Russian Indie Dance / Nu Disco and House label Soviett return with the 4th vinyl release of their club-friendly series «Plastinka»! Alexander Prosvetov, aka Marco Lazovic from Moscow, delivers an atmospheric tech-house track with a strong retro feeling of the 80s and 90s dance music scene; it emphasizes how deeply Lazovic explores the roots of electronica. Street Choice is a Russian duo of Artyom Vasiliev and Alexander Rodakov; the guys present a classic house production with a humming rhythm section and a memorable piano line on top. Buzz Compass is Andrey Bychenkov and his «Make A Baby» is a perfect laid back start to an evening pre-party with lots of live instruments and no rush. Plastinka 4 is a proper addition to your current vinyl DJ-set or personal listening pleasure!

Sometimes there’s a huge talent out there and you desperately want the whole universe to discover it. That’s pretty much the story of Parisian label
Chuwanaga with young French artist Koji Ono, composer and producer of
these four precisely crafted gems, recording everything by himself.

Brilliantly mixed by Greita from Disques Flegon, his first EP Incognito is the
product of a lot of influences, from Metro Area vibes to the original Britfunk
sound. With an inner sense of elegance in the arrangements - something we
may link to his Japanese heritage? - The whole EP brings musicality back on
the dancefloor.

We believe this could be the beginning of a great story for this talented
musician, Koji Ono emerging from the incognito shadow to the whole light of
the world.
