Paperfunk Recordings proudly presents the fourth installment of the legendary series — Onlyfunks Vol. 4. Created in collaboration with Neuropunk Academy, this release becomes a new point of singularity on the sonic map of the Drum & Bass culture, where the legacy of the scene intertwines with innovative audio impulses from a new generation.

Onlyfunks Vol. 4 is a futuristic cocktail of deep bass textures, quantum rhythms, and cinematic sonic landscapes. Each track is like an autonomous universe, saturated with its own sound, emotion, and character. Together, they form a cohesive audio system that engulfs the listener and transports their consciousness beyond the limits of ordinary perception.

Here, genre boundaries dissolve, and music becomes a unified neural network — connecting eras and styles into a unique sonic fabric. Onlyfunks once again expands the horizons of sound — boldly, vividly, and without compromise.

Bratislava's L Plus has been part of Technique Recordings' elite squad of production talent for some years now. Laying out the blueprint to his success, his 2017 debut album 'Hideout' took us on a sonic journey from festival main stage to subterranean rave and back again. His innovative musicality, coupled with indisputably heavy bass and beats, continues to scorch through the scene with bangers like 'Let Roll the World', 'Rocks', and 'Soul Food'.

And now he's back with two more slices of controlled madness.

As synth-pizzicati open 'Cadence' in a haze of floaty euphoria, we're led to believe we're heading for some smiles-all-around, uplifting melodies. Nope. L Plus quickly dispels that notion with a stomping screwface bassline that's going to grab your attention and refuse to let it go. Layers of evolving drums, rides and cowbells provide the scaffolding while the architecture is completed by Mr Plus's expert bass manipulation. This is heavyweight, and it's going to find a home on discerning deejays' USBs everywhere.

Then we have 'Raw Power'. From the opening pads and sprinkles of atmospheric percussion, setting us up for some mighty brass hits, that eponymous power is immediately evident. There's a darkside moodiness to this tune which only serves to amplify the energy levels once the bassline rolls in. And what a savage, serrated-edge bassline it is. Supported by concrete-tough drums, it morphs and snakes across the landscape cutting down everything in its path. L Plus wasn't playing around when he named this one.

So, L Plus's upward trajectory continues. As a highly in-demand deejay, he's smashed sets everywhere from his native Slovakia to Fabric to Liquicity and beyond, cementing his position with every new release. We've already seen big things from L Plus, but clearly there's way more yet to come.

L PLUS started his career as a Drum & Bass DJ in 1998 at the University of Architecture in Bratislava, where he founded the DJ crew Trademark with 2 friends. He started to perform at local parties and soon became a part of the drum & bass scene in Slovakia. The same year he started to produce his own tracks. Quickly L Plus’s reputation grew as a DJ in Slovakia and Czech republic where he played at different festivals, clubs and radio-shows and also around Europe. 2002 he won the Jim Beam DJ contest and became an owner of a pair of Technics turntables. The same year L Plus released his first promo vinyl and celebrated his release by playing in S. Petersburg.

Over the next few years his reputaion grew further when many top UK producers and DJ’s started playing his tunes and his name became more known in the international drum and bass circuit. 2007 was a break-through year for L Plus . He signed music to several labels including: Urban Takeover, Xporsure, Cymbalism, Intrinsic, Phunkfiction, Sidechain, First Generation and Robotix. He also collaborated with top Russian producer Paul B and MC Coppa on a track called ‘Danjaz’ which was played worldwide.

At the end of 2007 L Plus signed a track called ‘Middle East Sun’ to Futurebound’s Viper Records, and this was included on the mighty Andy C’s  ’Nightlife 4′ mix series and was released on RAM records. L PLUS became a part of the VIPER crew and signed more tunes for VIPER. After short break he released tunes in 2010 on Formation, Bad Monkey & Viper as well as  new collaborations and remixes.

In 2011 he signed exclusively to Technique Recordings / Worldwide Audio Recordings where he released his debut Timetravel EP and shortly after it remix of Tantrum Desire's Reach. 2012 started with the collab with Erb N Dub called Replica, followed by Gas Grenade and Catastrophe feat. Shaz Sparks, remixes of Crissy Criss's Let Go and John B's Lightspeed. 

L Plus has now released the four track Amazing EP including: Amazing, Taking Me Higher, Challenger, Close To You and has some new exciting material to unleash in 2012 and beyond.

His live DJ mixes are full of energy, power, heavy basslines ,rolling beats and full of atmosphere.
