@aurore404records is welcoming French artist @souffle-caramel for an EP of jazzy house music cooked during lockdown. The EP “Club de Jazz“ has been composed with his drum machines, synths, and the help of musician friends (pianist, saxophonist, trumpetist), whose performances are heard all throughout the EP. Through his music, Soufflé Caramel is taking us to a New York jazz club in the mid 1960’s and the loungey, airy atmosphere of the EP sets the scene for a record full of smooth-jazz vibes with a soaring affection for the deeper side of things.

I just found out my remix of Tevo Howard's "Boing Pop" has been included - without my approval - on the Hed Kandi Beach House 2014 compilation. I usually feel honoured when my music is selected for these types of things but I mean Hed Kandi is this total horror-conglomerate that uses retarded imagery drawn straight from the sexual fantasies of horny twelve year old boys to pimp a very sad idea of house music to the masses, so this time I just feel depressed. What's worse is that the owner of Rebirth (the label who originally released my remix) edited the track - again without my approval - into something shorter and clumsier, completely fucking up the flow of the music. Label Co-Founder 'Swales' offers up his first release on @rhythmdepartmentrecords with’ The House Vibe EP’. A feel good mixture of genuine house vibes guaranteed to make you move.

A1 - ‘I Can’t Let You Go’ kicks off the EP on a high with infectious vocals, brass stabs and jackin’ drums all tied together by a formidable piano arrangement.

A2 - ‘The One’ takes a sleazy turn into a flawless late night house cut. Featuring gritty Rhodes stabs and hypnotising vocals it describes the story of a personal connection to the music on the dance floor.

B1 - ‘Feel The Energy’ on the flip side ups the tempo once again and delivers the ideal combination of house and garage. Expect lush instrument licks and rolling drums perfect for any occasion.

B2 - ’Thinkin’ closes the EP. Last but most definitely not least, the track takes a decisively more mellow approach than the rest of the EP utilising chopped vocals, xylophone melodies and filtered chords. Perfect to tide you over until sunrise.
