For the 7th episode of the Ceol Podcast I have the honour of welcoming Real Gone Kid. Real name Simon Huxtable, he was a founding member of Decoded Magazine and is also the owner of ASTIR Recordings.
Real Gone Kid began producing sometime around 2002, but it was a full 10 years before his first release - a breakbeat remix of ‘You Don’t Know’ - for Melbourne-based singer Emma Kilpatrick. 
Now signed to Baroque, Mirabilis, Whartone and more, his music has found its way into the record collections of his heroes and fellow music nerds alike. But it wasn’t until he began his own imprint, ASTIR, that he finally realised his dream. Because at the heart of it all is the music. Without hearing FSOL that fateful day, he would still be that average schmo on the 9-5 hamster wheel. Music literally saved his life.
