as AI develops, it’s harder to determine whether only people have senses.
humans have discovered recently the next sense among robots and machines - they called it The 7th Sense - “randomness”. when given a particular task, they began to glitch. orchidvial tried to give machines free will and autonomy - the things that only humans are supposed to have.

“when making this project i always had this machine or algorithm in mind, whose purpose is to generate simple music, which does not hold too much meaning on its own. like background music, which plays in advertisements for example... but for whatever reason, due to an error or maybe the system somehow gaining consciousness and being bored with its given tasks, the produced output sounds warped. the tracks are always deconstructing and reconstructing themselves, sounds and rhythms are appearing out of nowhere.“

“SENSORIK” has been produced using also the 6th sense - “intuition”. the result is an incredibly pleasant experience for a human.

TRYCE @3yyccee and Xenia Reaper @xeniareaper collaborate on Dream-Fighter, a limited 7" lathe cut, due for release on Unguarded February 14th.

Drawing from a collection of recordings made throughout 2021, the two producers bring to life a cold, icy two-track single spanning precision-cut breaks, breezy pads and fluttering digital arpeggios, laced together by laser tight impacts.

Hyperlink surfaces again with Global Tides, a compilation born from trust, instinct, and the sheer joy of making something together.

…What happens if we stop trying to make sense, and start trying to make contact? …What if a compilation was a séance? What if we told you Global Tides started as a ripple in the fabric? A strange invitation passed between frequencies, across borders, through the fog of daily mess? 
Built on friendship, instincts, laptops, and late nights, this one’s about opening doors and seeing what rushes in. Global Tides is a love letter to collaboration. To letting go of the map and building something you couldn’t draw in advance (even if your collaborator’s on the other side of the world). A shaky bridge built between cities, timezones, feelings. Each track is a little rift, a meeting point where two (or more) worlds rub against each other until something spills out. Sometimes it’s raw, sometimes it’s cinematic, sometimes it’s a noise that wasn’t supposed to be there, but we kept it anyway, because it felt like a truth. At the end, all of it feels real. 

This is a drift. A gathering of scattered thoughts and tangled dreams, shaped into music by people who trusted the process. There were no rules. Just collisions and alignments. No plan. Just a low, shared hum: let’s try. Some tracks dissolve, others erupt. One of them might haunt you.

The proceeds on Bandcamp go back into this machine made of glue and guts : mastering, artwork, promo... Hyperlink’s still powered more by feelings than funding :’)

Words Fall to Ground is the new digital release on Creamcake from vocalist and producer Organ Tapes.

Organ Tapes is a part of a geographically dispersed set of rising “post-club” and scene of artists that include collectives like Bala Club, Staycore and Genome 6.66 Mbp, as well as artists like Blaze Kidd, Palmistry, coucou chloe and others, he has been releasing music independently under the Organ Tapes moniker since 2009.

He notably released Word Life on influential dance and club label Tobago Tracks in 2015. That album brought a stronger focus on OT's vocals, which continues in the Words Fall to Ground EP, while adding production from his peers, including Berlin’s @sodaplains, Paris’ @blu174 and Liège’s @ssaliva.

‘Believer’ is the only song of the four that features only Zha, and it meanders through the smoothest incarnation of the artist’s cut-and-paste aesthetic, one that liberally takes from a world of pop and noise samples, acapellas and field recordings to create the kind of raw, political world-making pioneered by artists like Elysia Crampton.

Words Fall to Ground EP will be released in full on May 5, with a launch party at Berghain’s new Säule club on May 12.
