I was given the...odd request to take "The Imperial March" and meld it with "Small World", and this was the result.  After getting stuck on that ride as a kid many years ago, I wonder what kind of mindset I'm supposed to have right now....

After a stint of watching Aaron Sorkin's "The Newsroom" with my buddy Danny Skoretz, and after watching a TV interview with the legendary John Williams where he played the theme he composed for NBC on the piano, I decided to try my hand on making a news theme, and this is the initial attempt.

This originally used to be very different.  Rockuiem was a piece I made with another friend of mine while we were both freshman, and it came out as a very badly mixed, heavily clipped piece.  And now I've re-approached it from the ground up to see what can happen with it.

For the record, the old version had a lot in the way of electric guitar, though this has none.  Just for those who wonder why it is called "Rockuiem"

The Breath Before The Plunge DEMO

My girlfriend talked to me a couple days back about an odd dream she recently had involving an organization of "Dream Phasers", people who in short could manipulate dreams.  We went on to discuss how this universe could work for awhile.  Later on as I was struggling for a new soundtrack idea, she said "Hey!  Why don't you write a song as if the dream phasers were an anime and it was the theme song?"

This was a fun project for me.  I wrote it to be the theme of a webcomic character called "Icarus" (hence using 'waxen wings' in the title), who also happens to be an inventor and pilot.

Perspective

25 year old recording engineer and composer based in the Los Angeles area.  Working my way into sound and music for film and games is what I dream to do eventually, but even more important than that is the fact that even now, after all this time, I am still in dire need of a sandwich.
