Edd Fisher Bio:
 Not your average disc jockey, Edd is a graduate of Australia's premier music school WAAPA (with a bachelor in Jazz Composition), presents a radio show (Tomorrowland) weekly on PBS106.7FM, programs and hosts the renowned ‘Roof To Reel’ series, and is a regular DJ in the Melbourne underground. 

The last 12months have been busy with Edd supporting the likes of Four Tet, Floating Points, Moodymann, Omar S,  Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, Darkside (Nicholas Jaar & Dave Harrington), Dean Blunt, The Gaslamp Killer, Funkineven, Teebs, Machine Drum, Fantastic Mr. Fox & Jacques Green as well as appearing at Australian festivals, Parklife, Strawberryfields, Let Them Eat Cake, Inner Varnika, The Melbourne International Jazz Festival and Rainbow Serpent. 

Edd has recently returned from a stint in Europe where he supported Late Nite Tuff Guy in Berlin and appeared at Rhythm Section, both on Londons NTS radio and at the fortnightly party alongside Bradley Zero(Boiler Room) and Joel Martin(Quiet Village).

FOURA confidently dabbles in bass, electronic, garage, house and techno. Not only is she a valued member of local music tastemakers The Operatives, but she is also an ambassador for DJ audio brand AIAIAI. As a revered selector, she has garnered DJ residencies at Revolver Upstairs, Glamorama, and Section 8. Production-wise, her brooding cut ‘HOLD U’ was included in Spotify’s ‘Best Electronic Songs of 2020′, and in early 2021, her signature UKG-inspired tunes gained the praise of major media from Triple J to MTV. After signing with Nina Las Vegas’ NLV Records in 2020, there is no doubt that FOURA is a star on the rise. Here she delivers an adventurous mix that is never boring - and always engaging.

LTEC 005: FOURA

If you are after soulful disco or dancefloor-busting tech-house, Tinika has you covered. Recently, the local artist popped up regularly on some of the cities best lineups. It’s easy to see why: she not only puts in the hours looking for tracks that inspire as much as they entertain, she infuses each set with a contagious aura that shines through in every mix. With upcoming shows that include the huge smalltown Bridge Party, Tinika is one of the more promising propositions to join Melbourne’s vibrant disco and house scene. Here she drops a 60-minute set fuelled with good-time vibes just in time for Spring - and an excellent primer for her upcoming set at LTEC 2022.

LTEC 006: Tinika

DJ and producer Dean Turnley is an unsung local talent. With six years of experience, he is a regular fixture at various local and interstate clubs, including residencies at Revolver and Bloom Nightclub. Recently, he turned his full creative focus towards productions with some exciting collaborations and originals in the pipeline. His most recent release on Secret Cuts Series is a delicious slice of house music that bodes well for what lies ahead. Floating effortlessly between deep to tech to more classic sounds, you can hear his house pedigree all over this mix.

LTEC 009: Re:percussion

With an uplifting blend of hi-energy electro and uptempo techno, DJ Belle has been crafting an infectious and easily identifiable sound that has seen her play at local clubs like Xe54, Thank You 2 and Colour. LTEC 010: DJ Belle

Tom Harris aka Hidden Spheres, first made his mark on the underground circuit with his release ’The Bloos’ on legendary label Moods & Grooves. He is, however, most well-known for his continually repressed and in-demand EP ‘Waiting’, the debut release on Lobster Theremin’s off-shoot Distant Hawaii, which graced the top of many end-of-year lists. Within that same year, he made his debut on Bradley Zero’s Rhythm Section with the EP ‘Well Well’, which reached top 10 lists in dance charts around the globe. As a DJ, Hidden Spheres relies on everything from cosmic to Italo-disco to classic house, always drawing on his musical knowledge to inspire togetherness and inclusiveness on the dance floor. LTEC 011: Hidden Spheres

Phil Napoli finds most of his inspiration in music that carries simple basslines and smooth synths. The young west Melbourne artist has played at some of Melbourne’s most iconic club nights/venues and supported some of Australia’s finest talent – including Prince Bandroom, The Third Day, Bourke Street Courtyard and Xe54, as well as artists such as Dom Dolla and Young Franco. With an abundance of experience under his belt already and plenty more to go, Phil Napoli is setting up for what is sure to be an explosive future. LTEC 013: Some Sheila & Esterslah

Over the last ten years, Gumm graduated from being an active promoter hosting renegade parties in obscure public spaces to performing at Melbourne’s biggest festivals, including Let Them Eat Cake, Pitch Music & Arts and smalltown. As co-founder of Melbourne brand Darklove, he hosted international acts The Drifter and Damon Jee to go with regular bookings supporting major acts from Maceo Plex to DJ Koze and more. His recent debut single ‘Struck’, released on Berlin-based Ombra International, the in-vogue label run by indie-dance maestro Curses, served as a crucial entry point into the global scene. With his recent headline show selling out over 500 tickets, Gumm is well situated to be at the Melbourne forefront of a new, compelling global sound with roots in genres like nu-wave, indie-dance and nu-disco.

LTEC 015: Willem

Since their 2010 inception following an epic, two-week-long house party, the six-piece Northeast Party House has managed to stay consistently relevant. In that time, the high-energy party starters have moved on from warehouse parties to national festival closers, building a loyal fan base around three self-produced, guitar-driven, dance-heavy LPs and explosive live performances. Their block-busting reputation has seen the band regularly tour their home country as well as internationally. Following their sold-out Forum shows earlier this year, the Mansion is ready to host one of our city’s most raucous party starters.

LTEC 016: Northeast Party House

Working as a stylist within the realms of fashion, beauty & music for almost 10 years, UK born and bred Kelly Tee has made a seamless & inevitable transition into the DJ world. 

With a sound that is supercharged and sexy, KT’s capacity to curate live sets brimming with an influx of bouncy beats, chuggy basslines, ethereal vocals, revved-up rollers & heavy groovers is second to none. Unmistakably influenced by her culturally rich British roots, it’s her unique taste & style of playing that sets her & her creative story telling apart.

Kelly is an undeniable beacon of non-stop energy & her passion for music & playing live has 
already earned her coveted spots on line-ups at Pitch Arts & Music Festival & Revolver Upstairs alongside the likes of Jordan Brando, Luuk Van Dijk, Kolombo, Late Nite Tuff Guy & Huxley (to name a few). 

After a year & a half of playing in clubs she is now turning her attention to events, having co-launched new Melbourne event ‘Gruuve’ (Circus Sundays) in July. Kelly is currently anchoring more of her energy into the production process.

LTEC 017: Kelly Tee

IT automation engineer by day, and Naarm-based DJ by night, Tinika is renowned for her distinctive taste and adventurous track selection. Through sonic exploration, she strives to surprise with each carefully curated mix, and consistently brings an upbeat sense of nostalgia to the dance floor. Tinika grew up heavily influenced by the sounds she selects today, with her output ranging from house, disco, to UK garage, bass, and everything in between.

Tinika has forged her way through the Melbourne electronic scene and has earned herself a spot on the lineup for many of Melbourne’s iconic venues. Drawing on her queer black identity, you’ll struggle to find a genre untouched by Tinika who seems to always give the crowd what they didn’t know they needed.

LTEC 018: Tinika

Ricky Nord is the curator & host of Club Elevate, a monthly radio show on Area 3000 which showcases local & international artists with interviews and mixes. Ricky’s own sound explores the higher energy side of music, where he delves into techno, trance and breakbeat, whilst also drawing inspiration from his love for Hip-Hop & Rap, which is often featured throughout his sets. Expect fast-paced energy and sentimental melodies when you watch him in action.

Alongside Club Elevate, His resume boasts festival performances at Let Them Eat Cake and Beyond the Valley, regular slots at XE54 and React and a residency with Gold Haus. Through mixing diverse genres of music, spinning records from his prized wax collection and collaborating with a number of cool artists with his radio show, Ricky is not only aiming to develop and exhibit his own unique sound, but also contribute to and foster the Australian underground music scene.

LTEC 019: Ricky Nord

Australia’s PARIS, formally known as Made in Paris, is one of the country’s most prolific artists. Attaining global audiences with millions of streams across releases on Stil Vor Talent, Of Leisure and Poesie Musik and having toured Europe, UK, India, USA and Mexico numerous times, the PARIS legacy grows stronger by the day. With 2020 & 2021 Triple J and Double J high rotation adds, numerous Spotify covers, and sets on Australia’s most in-demand festivals including Pitch Music Festival, and Splendour In The Grass, the Sydney artist has paved her path. 

PARIS has garnered enthusiasts within the industry from Maceo Plex, and Lane 8 to Township Rebellion and Oliver Koletzki, while also commanding attention from Mixmag, Sirius XM and BBC Radio 1 with official remixes for Grammy winners RÜFÜS DU SOL, alongside Cassian and Nils Hoffmann.

Let Them Eat Cake 023: Love Deluxe

Moontide is the alter ego of Louis Tobin, a Byron Bay-native who now calls Melbourne home. True to his Byron Bay-roots, Moontide dabbles in the sort of music that relaxes the mind and soothes the soul. What originally started as a side project to indulge in his more downtempo musical interests, is now slowly morphing into Tobin’s main focus. 

And we are not the only ones taking notice: word about his tranquil, sample-heavy live sets is slowly spreading, and recent bookings include Chi Wow Wah Town and Strawberry Fields festivals alongside upcoming bookings at Rainbow Serpent, Tanglewood, and of course, Let Them Eat Cake.  

Sit back, align the chakras, and take some time out with this comforting set from one of Melbourne’s most promising producers…

Let Them Eat Cake 024: Moontide

Melbourne’s Luboku , aka producer/songwriter Luis Kennett, is no average-sounding affair. He creates deep, shadowy production – a swirling haze of harmonies, marked with dark and brooding melodies – crafted into tracks that are at the same time uplifting and melancholic. Luboku’s debut solo single ‘The Surface’ was released in late 2017 - an exploration of dark electronics, a creation of sounds that were harsh, brittle and organic – steamrolled by a thick, clean and synthetic surface. As a song, it could just as easily soundtrack an afternoon festival slot in Melbourne as an underground club at dawn in Kreuzberg. As a sound, it sets Luboku as Australia’s answer to James Blake, only tinged with the bold energy of Jon Hopkins. 

Prepare for Luboku’s debut performance at Let Them Eat Cake with this sweet mix tinged with summer melancholia and good times.

Welcome to the Let Them Eat Cake podcast, a platform for us to showcase DJ mixes from local and international artists we love and follow. Next up, we have local artist Greetings. Based in Melbourne, and having worked as a DJ, producer, and a label curator for years now, he recently moved away from his Van Oasis moniker, rebranding himself as Greetings and focusing on 80s synth pop, house, and italo disco. This is a sound that is reflected in his imprint label Boots N Legs, most specifically his recent track Dangerous Greetings which featured on Boots N Legs debut vinyl pressing and garnered love from PBS. Recently returning from his Asia tour, GREETINGS crafts a discotheque spectacular for the ears with selections of 80's electronica, disco and edits.
