Lubømir & Crang – electronic, genuine, electrifying

These two quotes of the electronic music duo Lubømir & Crang get straight to the point. After years of sessions in front of the computer, they’ve had it. Their sound should feel like an instrument again. Their electronic grooves should manage without any laptop or computer. This epiphany led the musician and DJ Lubømir and the IT / technology freak and nerd Crang to assemble a set consisting only of autarkic sound machines. Synthesizers, samplers, groove boxes and effect machines were played just like instruments. Without support of any laptop or computer, the range of possibilities is of course quite narrow. Less memory capacity, less sound effects – there are just two times two hands to handle all devices. No matter if Deep House, Break Beat, Techno, Tech House, Drum ’n’ Bass or even Jungle and Dub Step elements. Raw, simple and direct – that’s how Lubømir & Crang’s beats get slapped into the audience’s face. What seems to be technically a step back rises to a new form of electronic live music
