3.32.39 is the 4th track in preview of Plume, my album on vinyl, that will be released October 16th.
The title is the exact hour in which, on April 6th 2009, an earthquake occured in L'Aquila, destroying  part of the city and changing its very soul forever.
The track is meant to be an homage to the victims memory and, at the same time, a hymn to life for whom has survived and found the strength to react.

Sound In Silence is happy to announce the return of Jason Sweeney, presenting his new album Middle Ages under the name of Sweeney.

For about twenty years Jason Sweeney, now based in Adelaide, Australia, has been composing and recording either solo, under the alias of Panoptique Electrical, Other People’s Children and Simpático, or with friends in various musical projects like Pretty Boy Crossover, Sweet William, School of Two, Luxury Gap, Par Avion, Great Panoptique Winter, Mist & Sea, Winter Witches and many others. He has also been directing and creating interactive works for the internet, experimental films, projects for galleries and theatre spaces and has collaborated with some of Australia’s leading performing arts companies and organizations.

Middle Ages is a brilliant collection of ten more song-based tracks than his usual Panoptique Electrical sound, with a total duration of about 37 minutes. With the help of his collaborators Jed Palmer and Zoë Barry who provide cello, accordion, string arrangements, guitars and bass, Sweeney creates a peaceful and emotional album full of beautiful textures and sonic landscapes. Centered on his distinctive voice and melodic piano lines, Middle Ages magnificently merges songwriting, modern classical and ambient sounds with minimal beats and field recordings. Mastered by Antony Ryan (ISAN) in Denmark, Middle Ages is a beautifully breathtaking album, highly recommended for devotees of Anohni, Scott Walker and David Sylvian.

This is a limited edition of 200 handmade and hand-numbered collectible copies. It is packaged in a lovely hand-stamped 127mm x 127mm 300 gsm cream recycled cardboard envelope with the front cover image printed on a polaroid style photo paper and an insert sheet containing tracklist, lyrics and information printed on a 110 gsm light yellow fabric paper. It also comes bundled with a download code coupon and a Sound In Silence card.

Piano Works is the second installment of Lucy Claire’s ‘Works’ series. It is an eclectic take on what piano music can be. Featuring cellist Ren Ford (Keaton Henson’s Romantic Works) and violinist Marie Schreer (The Royal Northern Sinfonia) and surrounded in atmospheric binaural soundscapes, the piano is far from lonely. The work features a collection of pianos from grands and uprights, to electric keyboards, toy and thumb pianos. It is grounded in the real world but hints strongly at the magical and supernatural, it absorbs, transports, then delivers you back to reality with new perspective.

Italian composer and pianist Luca Longobardi represents the generation of classically trained musicians who incorporate the language of contemporary electronic music into their pieces, which are furthermore strongly connected to the multimedia arts. Born in 1976, Longobardi studied classical music in Italy and New York and went on to earn his doctorate in digital audio restoration in Rome in 2011. His works reveal a strong interaction between classical and contemporary music. The experience he has gained as a theatre musician has increased his interest in the relationship between sounds and spectacle; he has composed music for ballets and films and accompanied installations and experimental art productions (Atelier de Lumières - Paris, Carrières de Lumières - Baux-de-Provence, Kunstkraftwerk - Leipzig). At his multimedia performances and in his recordings, strongly experimental electronic music meets pure, ethereal and simple-seeming piano playing that nevertheless relays deep emotions.
