We wish you were here, there, or anywhere to celebrate with us 25 years of Cocoon.

On our birthday, the big 25, we have a special present which please share and enjoy with us.

Sven went boldly where no one had gone before and created Cocoon. And we have never stopped - until the world did.

The 30th April 1996 is where it all began. This has to be the right moment to present the very first bit of our, let’s say it, influential history.

How many times I've been playing on Bukanyr? Twenty? Thirty times? Not sure... However, I have never recorded and released any of my sets from this extraordinary place. So, it's time now. Almost 4 hours of my favourite house music played before last Sunday's breakfast. It was just awesome to see you all dancing till the end. And thank you Mr. security to let us play 15 more minutes :) We all just so wanted that <3

▌I Wie bist du zur Musik / zum auflegen gekommen?
Musik hat mich vom Kindesalter an geprägt. Mein Vater war/ist Musiker in einer Ostrock Band und meine Mutter war Tänzerin. Wir hatten zu Hause einen Plattenspieler, der ständig in Betrieb war. Hits von "Earth, Wind and Fire" oder "Michael Jackson" gehörten zur Tagesordnung. Als ich dann anfing die Berliner Clubszene kennenzulernen, wurde mir ganz schnell klar, dass ich selber auflegen möchte. Eine eigene Dynamik für die Crowd zu schaffen und Musik zu spielen, die ich liebe, war ein Traum für mich. Und somit kaufte ich meinen ersten Traktor Controler, welcher nach ein paar Jahren gegen CDJ´s und Plattenspieler ausgetauscht wurde. 

▌II Was trinkst du beim Auflegen im Club?
Sekt auf Eis.

▌III Wie würdest du deinen Stil selbst beschreiben?
In meinen DJ Sets vereine ich verschiedene Elemente aus klassischem Disco, Italo, NuDisco und Wave.
