Luca Lozano takes that blueprint and brings it to a more organic place. He channels early '80s New York staples Liquid Liquid with a bobbing hand percussion groove and some killer bass work, the good feelings sent into overdrive every time the ghostly vocal appears and floats over top. Luca Lozano, owner of Klasse Recordings presents this majestic 4 track EP on Optimo Trax. Inspired by the past but sounding the antithesis of retro. In his own words....

"The Optimo Trax EP was born out of a time when I was listening to a lot of old Bleep House and Rave, early 90s UK stuff. Growing up in Sheffield I was lucky enough to spend some time in Warp Records when it was still a record store and being around this music and the people that made it must have somehow embedded itself into my psyche. Listening to pirate radio stations like Fantasy FM as a teenager helped shape my musical interests as they are today and I guess this EP is somehow a reflection of that education, I wanted to make a collection of music that sounded like it was related to a certain place and time and in effect confirm my own identity within its context."

A small sample of the 120 minute Jungle Tekno mix for Trilogy Tapes, for this mix I delved into the obscure and short lived genre mash up that was Jungle Techno or J-Tek as its also known. Familiar breakbeats are underpinned by a 4/4 kick drum, resulting in a frantic and dramatic style that was popular in the late 90s. The genre lives on with new producers trying their hand at the sound but generally the excitement and enthusiasm for the style has died down.

Who would have thought the highlight of my 2025 Australian tour would be down by the docks in a small underground club just outside the most remote city in the world?

Sometimes the things that surprise you are things that stay with you and this set was one of them, three hours of playtime warming up from an empty room to sweat dripping from the ceiling.

Direct and sincere thank you to all the dancers that showed up and stayed with me and helped create an insane atmosphere, I'm glad we can relive and revisit the vibes you created.

Originally released by Warp Records in 1993, Nail’s ‘Cassiopeia’ has since turned into a timeless deep trance classic. Luca Lozano’s interpretation sits somewhere between a remix and an edit, swapping out the original drums for an 808 and some breakbeats. Originally intended only for personal use on the dance floors, Klasse Wrecks is pleased to announce it is now available for public enjoyment via a one-sided white label. The record is housed in a translucent orange sleeve, comes with a 42x60cm ‘Klasse Wrecks’ poster and is limited to 400 copies only.
