I’ve always appreciated the emotional drive accompanied by thick percussive sounds in Odesza’s music.  After being contacted by them to remix All We Need, I instantly got to work; Here's what I came up with after finishing it a few months ago. If you've seen me play in the past few months, you've definitely heard this track in my sets :)

SOME MINDS

A female vocalist sings a pop ballad with a driving beat. The song is in the key of C major and has a tempo of 120 BPM. The instrumentation includes a piano playing arpeggiated chords, a synth bass providing a steady rhythm, and drums with a strong kick and snare. The vocals are clear and emotional, with some subtle harmonies in the chorus. The song structure follows a typical verse-chorus format with a bridge and outro. Production elements include a clean mix with a slight reverb on the vocals and a subtle delay on some of the synth elements.

Ike sent in this song called Juniper, an absolutely delightful and fluttery synth based tune that we had no choice but to showcase. This song hooks you in with the beautifully mixed rhythmic synths dancing off of one another into the second movement of the track where the flutter synths variate almost like a future bass drop but way more chill! Beautiful tack, Bloom Child Approved!

Ike - Juniper

Limbo is a track I’ve been opening my sets with for the past couple shows. 

I made it during a strange time in my life when I was floating between several binaries relating to my career, relationship at the time, and self-esteem. It’s a frustrating time but also a sadly beautiful one that I hope a lot of people can relate to. 

This theme shaded many decisions that went into this release, like the repetitive motif that basically plays all throughout but reoccurs in very different ways. 

Limbo is both my hardest and most vulnerable track to date.
