Der Herzensmensch, Mediziner, Traumtänzer, Violinist und DJ erfüllt bereits seit einiger Zeit zahllose Clubs und Festivals mit schönen Strahlen und swaggy Sounds und reisst auch in seinem Set für uns wieder mal die Zelte ab.

What a year!

Just when it felt like there was already enough drama going on for a whole century in a tiny decade, things became worse and more confusing by the hour. A sadly too well known Russian dictator started invading Ukraine in early 2022 and as of the years end is not showing signs of retreat. 

The time to not be political has clearly come to an end and so we set out to empathize with our sisters and brothers that have lost their homes, ripped their lives apart and express our condolence to those that have lost their loved ones. There is very little in our power to help, but with this compilation we try to raise at least a little money to help those in need. 

Since we're a record label and not an NGO we decided to forward 100% of the profits to Blindspots e.V., an organisation dedicated to help distribute material donations and evacuate people from embattled cities. You can read more about their work here:

ABOUT Daniela Mariposa:

Daniela danced through the late 90s and enjoyed the development of electronic music over the years. Always looking for new artists with  innovative sound, she viewed herself as a music consumer of deep conviction. Not rarely did she fly for just one artist to another country. To this day, she loves good techno, driving soundscapes and almost monotonous minimal sound. Only with the expansion of her musical horizon to downtempo and the realization of being able to combine all different types of electronic and analogue music she loves so much, she wanted to express myself with the music. Suddenly, the love of music reached an entirely new level. Daniela is grateful for everything she has experienced through music. Between melodic playful sounds and psychedelic driving techno classics inspired from the different genres and times, she lets herself drift. She is looking forward to everything that comes, the main thing is that the passion stays and that she never loses sight of her goal: to move slowly, live slowly....

Upcoming Mexican-Norwegian DJ and producer Inspired by German techno and house, she started her career in underground electronic music scene in 2008. 

With influences of Scandinavian sounds and Mexican roots, she experiments with both musical cultures that give hypnotic ethnic sounds and complex dark/sweet beats to her sets.

Kris Berle - Mayan Warrior - Burning Man - 2018

Hard to believe, but it's been a year and half since I released my last studio concept mix. I'm excited to break the streak and share this with you today.

I've always considered these self-released studio mixes the backbone of my identity. They were the primary medium of artistic communication - from me to you - for many years. Of course, some live recordings and guest mixes were released along the way, but they're not quite the same as a self-released studio mix... mostly because these aren't bound by any aesthetic constraints (like the sound of a label, podcast, or responsiveness of a dance floor in the moment). 

These mixes are my most authentic voice.

After taking a long break from the one thing that's been so fundamental to defining who I am, I thought deeply about what I wanted to say, which was a delightful challenge.

How can I remain continuous from where I left off in August, 2017? 

At the same time, how can I avoid falling into the trap of doing what I've always done? After all, music has changed... you've changed... my taste has changed, but I'm still me. Or am I now someone else?

I’m happy to present you what happened to be a true adventure & a musical highlight for me this year, Journey to Tarab 2019.

The story takes place in two chapters, recorded on the Drachen Nest Saturday night in Zsambek, Hungary.

CHAPTER I

It’s 7:45pm and I’m in the DJ booth of the Drachen Nest, my equipment is connected and I’m ready to play. In the center of the dancefloor, a beautiful tandem are performing live with a super cozy setup & I discover the talented duo Ameli Paul. The stage manager gives me a sign that it’s their last song, and I have my intro tracks and samples selected - I’m ready to go and ecstatic to play. 

As my first track is playing, it only takes a few minutes before the wind blows dark and dense clouds hover above our heads. The rain starts pouring; showers. I look down for only a few seconds to mix in the next song but by the next time I look up, everyone has vanished.

A small group of people with the most vibrant energy came to seek shelter in the booth and it truly cheers me up. I’m so excited to be there and I know that such heavy rain won’t last long, staying optimistic that people will come back.

As the rain calms down, people come back, one by one. Umbrellas, raincoats, mud & smiles. The crowd continues to grow and I get to meet my dance floor one person at a time. The rain has stopped. The Drachen is blowing smoke while the sun disappears & I feel the dance floor is finally in symbiosis. I evolve tempo by a few BPM & as my most energetic track of the set drops…

B L A C K O U T. No sound, no light, it is total darkness on the dance floor, a complete power outage.

In 2020 the Seaside Trip presents you »the untold stories of the sinking sea!«. the first story is pressed into sound waves by the best steersman that a captain could wish for and that the world has never seen, Dr. c0nne. his »colorfast stardust« mix is a recording of his closing set at the fabulous Sternstunde event at our beloved Bucht in Berlin. there he was the last to play in the Salon in September 2019 and did the same like his captain would do: never leave the ship before the last note has sunk into the sea. Conne, you did it very well and whirled up a lot of colorful stardust. enjoy listening to the pressed sound waves and sweeping your star dust. AND welcome to 2020!

* « Secret » du latin « Secretus », participe passé de Secerno, « séparer/mettre de côté». Plus anciennement «Crisis» en grec et  «Kris » en sanskrit : la nécessité du secret naitrait alors, de la séparation originelle entre Dieu et les hommes.
