Tại Học viện Kyōiku, những học sinh ở nhiều độ tuổi khác nhau cùng nhau học tập.
Có một quy tắc đặc biệt trong bài kiểm tra theo cặp của học viện:
“Dù ký ức có phai nhạt, tình bạn vẫn phải còn lại trong trái tim.”

Tên cô ấy là Yukino.
Mái tóc cô điểm vài sợi bạc, đôi mắt sâu như biển cả.
Cô mỉm cười dịu dàng, nhưng đôi khi lại quên mất cả nơi mình đang đứng.

Tôi là Haruto, mười bảy tuổi—một cậu học sinh hơi vụng về ở khối trung học của học viện.
Một ngày nọ, thầy giáo nói:

“Haruto, lần kiểm tra này em sẽ ghép đôi với Yukino nhé.”

Tôi đã do dự.
Yukino được chẩn đoán mắc chứng mất trí nhớ, và gần đây tôi nghe rằng đôi khi cô còn khó nhớ chính tên mình.

Nhưng khi bài kiểm tra bắt đầu, bầu không khí dần thay đổi.

Nhiệm vụ là cùng nhau sáng tác một bài thơ.
Chủ đề: “Ký ức mùa xuân.”

Tôi hỏi:
“Mùa xuân đối với cô có cảm giác thế nào?”

Yukino khẽ nheo mắt và thì thầm:

“Dưới tán hoa anh đào, tôi đã nắm tay ai đó cùng bước đi… Tôi không nhớ tên người ấy, nhưng hơi ấm thì vẫn còn.”

Khoảnh khắc ấy, trái tim tôi như thắt lại.

Chúng tôi trao đổi lời nói và bắt đầu dệt nên một bài thơ:

—Quên cũng không sao
Dù ký ức phai nhạt, hơi ấm từ bàn tay anh chính là mùa xuân
Rằng anh đã từng ở đây,
Ngọn gió vẫn nhớ—

Sau bài kiểm tra, thầy giáo đã ghi lại bài thơ của chúng tôi vào sổ lớp.
Và trong điện thoại của tôi, vẫn còn đoạn video Yukino và tôi cùng đọc bài thơ ấy.

Tuần sau, Yukino hoàn toàn quên mất tên tôi.

“Rất vui được gặp em,” cô mỉm cười nói.

Nhưng khi tôi đưa cho cô xem bài thơ, ngón tay cô khựng lại.
Cô khẽ chạm vào những dòng chữ và thì thầm:

“Những câu này thật đẹp… Tôi cảm thấy như đã viết cùng ai đó, ở đâu đó.”

Tôi gật đầu và đáp:

“Có lẽ người ấy vẫn còn nhớ cô, ngay cả bây giờ.”

Vài tuần sau, tại hội trường của học viện, triển lãm “Ký ức mùa xuân” được tổ chức.
Bài thơ của chúng tôi lặng lẽ được trưng bày, ký tên: “Đồng tác giả: Yukino & Haruto.”
Nhiều người đã dừng lại trước tác phẩm, đôi mắt họ ngấn lệ.

Dù chính cô đã quên,
những cảm xúc ấy vẫn còn lại, được ghi vào trái tim của người khác.

Quên cũng không sao.
Bởi mùa xuân mà chúng tôi đã cùng nhau trải qua vẫn đang nở rộ nơi đây.

Undertale by Toby Fox has some frighteningly catchy music, not least of which is its boss music.  That in mind, sat down and jammed this out over the space of an evening.  

(Possible light spoilers)

It's not 100% accurate (Toby's chiptunes are meticulously detailed and I was rushing bits of it), and some of the transitions are pretty harsh, but it was fun to muck about with Toby's tunes again. Hopefully everything remains recognizable!

(Apologies to Undyne fans, just couldn't really fit her whole theme in with the rest, so jammed Spider Dance in there instead :p )

(Also this was dangerously close to just being 5 minutes of Bonetrousle)

(Yes I know Heartache should be first shut up)
