My latest creation. The songwriting part of it happened fast. The chorus part came to me intact last Friday and then I wrote the rest around it that day. Started recording it so I didn't forget it this morning and decided it was good enough to flesh out. It needs a little refinement, but I think it has good bones and will be around a while. *Updated - added a little volume to the mix so it wouldn't be so quiet.

I knew when I first heard this song 17 years ago that one day it would be the soundtrack to losing my father. Today was that day. In tribute I altered a few lyrics and gave it a more laid-back feel. Please don't sue me, should you happen to be in Harvey Danger (I actually met them once in Memphis - they played a show with Letters to Cleo. It was awesome).

I challenged myself to write and record four songs on a camping trip. The photo shows my Subaru converted to a makeshift studio using my Zoom H4N to record. The weather chased us out of camp so I only got two songs done, and this is the better of the two.
