Where to start with this one...this is the fourth remix I've done for The Knocks, and I think its safe to say after this there's something awesome going on when we do something together.  Not that they need any introduction at this point but The Knocks are a duo from NYC who consistently put out incredible tunes and although we make very different kinds of music I think we're both inspired by a lot of the same things.  Sneaky Sound System always manages to deliver epic vocals that lend themselves very well to being remixed, and when I first heard "The One" I got inspired pretty much instantly.  As I often do with my remixes, I decided to take the track from a more serious and minor-key tone into a uplifting major progression, and this remix combines a lot of my current influences into a track that has a lot of different sounds all working as one (and no I did not mean to create a horrible pun there).  This remix was an insane amount of work, my Ableton session was around 250 tracks for this one, but it was worth it - this is by far my favorite track I've done to date and something I hope you guys will be listening to for a long time to come.

Chromeo - Jealous (Funk LeBlanc Remix)

“Ashes on the Water” is a storm-soaked fusion of melodic post-hardcore emotion and euphoric EDM atmosphere, built around the ache of losing someone you can’t let go of. The song opens with distant thunder, soft ambient pads, and clean, vulnerable vocals before expanding into a sweeping wall of sound—bright detuned synths, airy future-bass chords, and palm-muted guitars shimmering beneath the mix.

As the verses unfold, the vocalist delivers a quiet, chest-heavy confession, almost whispering the grief that still pulls him backward like an undertow. Rain-textured percussion and side-chained pads create the feeling of floating in slow motion, caught between memory and reality.

The chorus erupts into a wide, cinematic drop—glitchy vocal chop melodies, emotional synth leads, and festival-sized EDM energy crashing together with raw melodic-hardcore intensity. It feels like screaming into a storm while the ocean throws your heart back at you.

Lyrically, the song carries imagery of lightning, open water, distant cities, and the drifting embers of someone who’s gone—ashes carried by the tide, symbolizing all the memories that refuse to fade.

By the final drop, the track becomes a cathartic release: desperate, beautiful, overwhelming.
A song about grief as an ocean, love as a ghost, and the impossible task of moving on.

this song started on a rainy day in LA... it was all gray outside and i just started messing around until this "wuub wub wuub wub wubwubwubwubwub" thing appeared in my head... i didn't think much of it at first, but it turned into one of my favorite tracks i've ever made. writing the rest of it with Nevve was one of the most magical musical experiences i've ever had, she's brilliant. it's a different sound for me, but i'm super proud of it and i hope you all love it as much as i do <3 ENJOY!
