It goes without saying that lockdown was a testing time for everyone – especially those in dance music. On many occasions, motivation was lost, inspiration ran dry and tension peaked at an all-time high. But one thing we could always rely on was the collective love our scene has for the music. Just look at the passion on display with the return of events! It’s a sentiment DJ Marky’s upcoming single “Love Will Find Its Way” is built around. Landing on Shogun Audio September 17th, the track sees Marky team up with Manchester-based lyricist EVABEE to create a heartfelt summer number fitting of the emotions many have been experiencing. Written during the early stages of the pandemic when the world was brought to a halt, Evabee’s lyrics serve as reminder that love will always find its way back to us eventually, no matter what obstacles are placed in the way.

The release follows on from Marky’s last outing on Shogun in 2020 where he collaborated with Pola & Bryson on their Run the Streets EP. We don’t know how long we’re going to have events back for, but what we do know is “Love Will Find Its Way” is a message all of us can find comfort in during these uncertain times.

Random Movement's ''I Stayed Around'' taken from his 2015 Sleazy Bitch EP on Fokuz received critical acclaim and support by the likes of Technimatic and Spectrasoul fortifying his position as the go to guy for bridging the gap between rough and smooth. With this Lenzman reinterpretation the Dutchman turns the original concept into an energetic roller leaving his signature markings all over. Already one of the essential liquid tracks of 2016!

To complete the release ''Suggestions'' by Anthony Kasper was added. It's most definitely a feel good track with subtle touches, a playful bassline and infectious vocal cuts. Strong sounds coming from this Minneapolis based d&b talent. We look forward hearing more!

Over the past 3 years Luke Beavon’s music has gained many admirers in the drum and bass world. His musicality, passion, ear for detail and production ability all shine through on his releases. These two tracks are no exception. Missing you is real heartbreaker; with lyrics written and performed by DRS and Tyler Daley it’s a beautiful soul song for the all the people that have lost someone close. Ill Truth have been biding their time recently, spending hours in the studio to slowly build with expert electronic craftsmanship for the ‘Hollow Game EP’ which will add another monument towards their ascending career. Following a plethora of support on the scene’s most resounding, underground imprints, they’ve returned with ‘Lightbreak’ and ‘Hollow Game’, bringing the gritty, sub terranean sounds that they’re renowned for. Ensuring that they stay at the height of their game whilst paying homage to the type of drum & bass which act as the genre’s backbone, Ill Truth never sacrifices viability for commercial appeal, time and time again delivering cut after sonic cut that would easily find itself at home in the darkest of clubs.

With ‘Hollow Game’, Ill Truth draws you into their subtle, yet dynamic soundscape. However, this time you’re pulled into a softer shade of musicality. Featuring artist Michael E.T. adds his production ingenuity for the liquid track and female vocals are manipulated to add a rhythmic humanism to its melody. With each break propped up by cranking drum peddles and subtle quakes of bass, it’s easy to become lost in the ethereal side of Ill Truth’s discography. The producers use this single to demonstrate both their versatility and talent within the studio.
