Lulled into melancholic tales by other joe (@josephbuchan), musician, producer and label head from Melbourne, a city that has given me so much in musical terms. This mix —sketched for loved ones— signifies the 100th landmark at FR, which I celebrate as an enduring and beautiful journey through the ever-expanding music realm. A heartfelt thanks to every soul who has contributed to this project so far.

q. pls introduce yourself:

Hey :) I am Ahmad Qatramiz, a Syrian-French artist based in Paris. Grew up in Syria, then France and I am a passionate person about life, nature, science, music, art and all things in between. 


q. is there a story behind the mix?

There’s no specific story behind the mix, apart that it depicts the music that I’ve been passionate about the last weeks. The tracks that are present are the deep sounds that enchant my ears and soul when I am chilling, and relaxing. It’s built around tracks, unreleased and released, of mine. There are multiple tracks of the same artists as well, and it’s in some way presenting my respect and admiration for these artists for deeply inspiring me.


q. what’s the best way to enjoy your mix?

On a bike ride (although it’s not the safest), or by the water somewhere in the woods :) 


q. describe a favourite object in your living room…

My formica wooden table, I don’t have it anymore because I moved out of my place and am currently living for a limited time at parent’s again, but I miss it so much. It was home for me. Very simple and lovely feeling.


q. are you working on any projects right now (music or not music)?

Absolutely, I am building a new label with friends called Sensory Cells. It’s based around sensory exploration of the subjective of each artist around specific topics. It will be an audio - visual - zine label, sharing scientific topics around senses either in their sociological aspect or physiological one. More to come very soon. It will be showcasing new microscopic art I’ve been developing lately.
Also, I am working on my second LP, which I think will come by a succession of 2-3 EPs on Sensory Cells before forming the LP. Stay tuned :)
