Overtones Records shows off its superb roster with a bumper collection of news tunes on its Summer Compilation 2024.

Sugar Baby feat. Gigi Mendez by Alberto Dimeo & label boss Tony Guerra opens up with some tropical house vibes and busy percussive layers. Llego Papá from Jonathan Jaramillo is a more tight house shuffler with freaky vocals, People Go feat. Xavier Michel by Cour T. is a nice and heady sound with balmy pads and Les Falta by Kofla.

Elsewhere there is real tribal heat on Tribal Fuego, Band&Dos track Synthesis is a driving groovy one for the middle of the night, Javi Reina, Jesus Fernandez give us Goza which is a pumpin' tech house cut, and Franklyn Watts, Schade, Swavé go big with Huevo which is a percussive, Latin tinged tribal house sound and Function from Alex Phillipp is another richly layered house sound that is steamy and sure to get the crowd in a sweat. More red hot house gems come from Junior Souza, Hyde, Fenky, Gabriel Hernandez and Diego Lopez and last of all, Ice Gold by Ogawa (US) shuts down with some deeper, more stripped back and infectious drums that have great swing.

This label has always dealt in unique house sounds from across a tasteful spectrum and this fulsome selection proves that beyond doubt once more.

Homework have been labelled"Emerging Artists for 2011"by Beatport.Their productions did get supportive spins from Soul Clap + Wolf & Lamb,Azari & III,Jesse Rose,Derric Carter,Laurent Garnier to name a few.Now with an ever-expanding catalogue of productions(Remixes for Round Table Knights+releases on Made to Play and Snatch!),touching on different sentiments+styles,the two are traveling from Panoramabar to Social Club and everything in between.The upcoming'Hudson Square Remix EP' includes mixes by Andre Crom(Off)&Martin Dawson(Crosstown Rebels),Phil Weeks (Robsoul),Superlover,Darabi(Get the Curse)..Homework’s first tracks were quickly snatched up last year by Exploited’s own Shir Khan. Since then, Amsterdam duo Homework (comprised of Zip & Tom) got catapulted into the International house scene through the release of their widely supported 'Fissa Tune EP' on the Berlin imprint Exploited, and the accompanying hype surrounding the title track 'Fissa Tune', which, through consistent appraisal from the likes of Brodinski and Jesse Rose, found its way to many a chart and DJ set. They infuse their music and djing style with every essence of underground music. They take their listeners through a journey of groove that represents them. They are constantly pushing for that forward thinking-sound. After a couple years in the industry, they started their own brand WAL where each gathering is a new experience. With this project they’ve been able to put themselves in the greatest venues in Montreal. The best is yet to come for this young duo.
