Canadian-born, Miami-based PRIMO is an artist on the rise. Last year’s Afro-house anthem, “Mami Colombiana”, kicked things off before two huge collaborations with BADDIES ONLY (now thankfully renamed JOHN ELLE) pushed his silky Reggaeton vocals into overdrive. “No Te Voy A Mentir” follows up his earlier colllab with Kevin McKay, “Freaky”, and continues their vocal-charged Afro. Pitched somewhere between the deeper guitar-based groove of Maz (Br) and the tougher tones of RBOR (with a touch of Buscando Money), this is a dancefloor-friendly Afro house that will work in more chilled musical settings, too. Superb.
