Next up on Love Not Money is an EP from hot property A Lister (Alex Lister), a 24 year old House Producer from Bradford who initially featured on LNM earlier this year with a sterling remix of Ali Scott's 'Dream Machine'. Alex first caught the attention of House fans the world over when his debut release 'Your Soul' entered the Traxsource Top 20. Moving forward Alex has since had several Top 10's and a Deep House #1 spot under his belt, plus plays on Radio1, Kiss FM and Rinse. With this rate of consistency it's easy to see why his productions are fast becoming sought after, and why his name is becoming synonymous with good quality house music.

Now he lands back on the label with his own EP. The raw combination of prime time jacking grooves, heavy basslines, classic house sounds and the catchy vocal sample of lead track 'Problems' alongside the more laid-back, late-night style of the B-Side 'Truthful' perfectly demonstrates why he's being held in such high regard by his peers.

On remix duties there's help from two more talented individuals in the form James Dexter & Scott Forshaw. James is no stranger to the scene with releases on 'Lost My Dog', 'Large Music' and many more established labels. His remix of 'Problems' takes on a more underground approach as he turns out a deeper, stripped back work-out with a steam roller of a bass-line and tough swinging percussion. Add that to the tightly cut vocal hook's and you've got yourself a slammer of a remix. Scott Forshaw is another young artist who's no stranger to success; working under the alias hausJacker for the past 3 years he has clocked up a number of Beatport top 10's and now he's back producing under his original guise rounding up the remixes nicely with a classic Organ House workout!

The high voltage ‘Electricity’ kicks things off with the sensational voice of Anabel Englund leading the way. The deep, slow grooves ride effortlessly through the track with a breath-taking break down filled with electric bolts and melodic synth keys.

‘Goodnight Moon’ is the second on offer from Lee and Marc and boasts a heavy bass, beautiful synths patterns and infectious groove. The atmosphere in the track is filled with layers of intricate percussions and luscious melodies, while the interesting vocals make this really stand out from the rest.

Over on the B-side Lee takes the reins with ‘Could Be’, effortlessly swarming the mind with soaring synths, soft R n’B style vocals and lo-slung driving bass lines, while the trippy keys are destined to hypnotize you on the dancefloor.

Rounding off ‘B5 the Dinks’ is aimed straight at the dancefloor. Packed full of groove with an intoxicating bassline, the high-pitched warbling keys, vocals and crowd noises add a new dimension and make this a real party track. (Maouris) 

Lee Foss & MK feat. Anabel Englund - Electricity EP

Visionquest’s latest offering comes courtesy of the industrious Butch. Evoking ancient God’s of the ancient times is the theme for Butch's latest release; and it's not hard to see why once you've had a listen to this one, which oozes with mysterious and mythical charm.

Butch is no stranger to the scene, in fact if anything he's become somewhat of a stalwart over the course of the 100 releases he has amassed on high profile labels such as Sei Es Drum, Rekids and Cocoon. Named 'Producer of the year' several times over the course of his career, he his renowned for his exceptional skills and his ability to work within a variety of electronic genres successfully.

In ancient Egyptian times Horus was the god of the sky and was characterised as a man with the head of the hawk. This one takes off initially with a barrage of otherworldly squeaks and bleeps which twist and turns until the introduction of a huge percussion section makes it clear that this is going to be an epic flight. Otherworldly vocal snips and samples lead the way until a juno-esque bass-line enters the foray and takes this one to a whole new level driving it - and the dance floor - until the very end.

On the flip we come face to face with Medusa, a gorgon from Greek mythology who's hideous features could turn men to stone. But contrary to it's title this one won't have you turning to stone, it will actually have you moving rather hypnotically along to its lush glockenspiel melodies and the ever evolving percussion which is filled with the most weird and wonderful sounds.

A great godlike double-header from Butch’s and the Visionquest stable.

Steadily mining gold in an ever-evolving electronic landscape, the Visionquest imprint gets set to unleash an incredibly special 6-track EP from Clarian - one half of the supreme duo Footprintz. Collaborating with the always-innovative Guy Gerber on the opener, Clarian voyages solo throughout the rest of the EP – a collective of ‘Chemical Gardens’ for a sonically re-imagined Blade Runner kingdom.

Beach Boys oohs on top of Camino 808 lines with Morriconne style piano licks over a zombie meets deep house track - the ‘Chemical Gardens EP’ is a patchwork of cross-genres and moods. The A-side covers ethereal sunrise magic and cosmic oddities opening with ‘Claire’ featuring Guy Gerber - an emotive beauty in which dubby beats dissolve into a motif of synth stabs, sweet electronic melodies and rising waves of filtered vox. ‘Destroy, She Says’ is a haunting dream of hypnotic keys and heavy drums while ‘Renaissance’ is simply a magical set closer that alludes to an innocent era of rave.

Taking the listener deeper into the night ‘Remove Control’ kicks off the B-side with a jagged electronic bassline tight snares and shakers and a powerful vocal while ‘Through Your Mind feat. J’ drops a heavy dose of acid with a mechanical sleazy vibe. Closing track ‘U’ is all about the build against the naked drum groove, moody bass synths and echoing vox. Clarian’s chemical gardens and Visionquest are clearly meant to be and these shimmering towers of sound are likely to remain a highlight of the imprints illustrious cannon. A truly innovative and groundbreaking release, that further cements Clarian’s standing as an incredible talent.

Following acclaimed excursions on Hypercolour (‘Needs You EP’) and Will Saul’s Aus Music (‘Child EP’) last year, George FitzGerald is preparing to make his return to his Hotflush home for the first time since 2011. Premiering in FitzGerald’s debut Radio 1 Essential Mix last month as part of the ‘2013’s Future Stars’ series, ‘Thinking Of You’ is scheduled to drop as a Beaport exclusive on 18th March, with full physical release and accompanying tracks to follow in May.
 
Having displayed his innate understanding of how to craft a musical narrative with the Essential Mix, ‘Thinking Of You’ turns to the darker realms of the dance floor imbued with the same kind of precision-tooled grooves, nuanced melodic touch and emotive shades that have garnered him such praise in the past.
 
The last twelve months have been extremely busy for FitzGerald as he continues to capture the attention of industry heads and fans alike with his refined and emotive homegrown club music. Releasing music on his regular home Hotflush, as well as Will Saul’s Aus Music imprint and the acclaimed Hypercolour stable, not to mention his own burgeoning ManMakeMusic imprint, FitzGerald's flourishing discography continues to grow steadily but impeccably.
