A poem. A rant about my blackness- the ancient wrath that lives inside my heart. The dissonance that exists around me in a world I dont always feel is made for me but still that I am made for it as a creator and thinker. The everyday battle to overcome expectations. And knowing the mind is a powerful thing but a spirit–a spirit can direct a mind like the mind directs a foot. One step at a time and almost never in reverse.
Don't sulk for too long. Don’t sink. Get up and MOVE.
Be thankful to be alive every day and to have the ability to make choices.
I have learned to be kind to myself. I’m just a baby.
