Hajo van Losenoord is the captain of a bulk carrier, which sails the seven seas. He carries everything from aeroplanes and ammunition, to Christmas cards and even a cat! 

I chatted with him while he was docked in the town of Dampier, on Western Australia's Pilbara coast.

Life at sea

On Valentine's Day eve I went to Karratha airport to catch up with mining workers who were due to fly out back home to their loved ones.

Most of the mining workforce in Western Australia's remote Pilbara region is FIFO(fly in fly out), which means workers are away from their families for weeks or months at a time.
