Introducing the Grounded EP by Dirk Wiertz which takes the listener through a journey of sonic exploration.

The title track of the EP ‘Grounded’ unveils a series of high powered basslines which remain apparent throughout the EP, supported by a plethora of peculiar soundscapes and vocal FX.

‘Pressure Drop’ continues Dirk’s exploration through the sonic world of heavy hitting electro, with a driving 4x4 beat. 

‘Perpetual Tunnel’ takes us on a more melancholic trip through the sonic space. Exhibiting Dirk’s ability to capture a unique sense of emotion.

Ending the EP, ‘CyberFlex (DarkDive Mix)’ combines alien signals with a heavy bassline to create a beacon of mass destruction.

Releasing September 3rd only on Bandcamp on limited run cassette and digital formats.

Despite making his debut just a couple of years ago, @lloydstellar is already one of the men of the hour. The Dutch musician Erik Griffioen -the real name under the moniker- has proved to have his very own and authentic approach to electro music with releases on Bella Ursa, @crobotmuzik, or @gatedrecordings among others. His sound, obviously present in this podcast, is led by machine-like beats, melancholic pads, appealing vocoders, and a whole futuristic universe that talks about man’s greed, the conflictive relationship between humans and machines, and dazzling intergalactic battles. Other Side is the first solo album of Michael Zodorozny, New York post-punk icon and founding member of Crash Course in Science. The side he shows on the album is a rougher and more personal one.
The seven tracks, including a feisty remix by The Hacker, are dark and thrusting with an EBM and industrial feel. Home-made and self-invented instruments complete Michael's specific, extraordinary sound.
Other Side was produced by Matia Simovich aka INHALT. Michael himself painted and designed the cover artwork.

After releases on Hivern Disc and Nitsa Traxx amongst many other labels the prolific spanish producer appears for the first time in @calypsorecs with a 4 track EP that has been waiting to see the light for a long time...and finally the time has come.
The music goes from the slow motion percussive sounds to acid basslines and modulated sounds that reverberate deep in the soul. The atmosphere of the music is enigmatic and futuristic but also melancholic and primitive. There are a lot of skills in the production style of this Barcelonian producer.
To complete the package Mr Tc delivers a hypnotic techno(ish) remix that makes this EP a very strong comeback for Calypso Records.

Node hails from West Yorkshire, UK although currently resides in the mountains of Japan. Alongside his long time friend Jadey they set up Gated Recordings back in 2019 to eagerly put out a variety of good music onto vinyl.
With some powerful early releases thanks to the likes of Simial, Sound Synthesis and Dopefist they were able to doggedly put out a wide range of music despite the world seemingly collapsing in on itself. 

For this mix he has provided a set of deep Electro alongside some nice Acid and a smattering of gritty Techno from some of the world's best producers. Garnished with a host of Gated releases, old and new. Plus forthcoming ones battling to get out of a very delayed production process mainly due to the aforementioned apparent "collapsing of society".  If you like records though, feel free to check out the Gated Bandcamp/Soundcloud and other socials for some nice distractions and quality electronics.

Berlin-based label. Burial Soil proudly presents a collaborative electro album initiated by CYRK.
For their album „Freundschaft“ CYRK has collaborated with Steffi, Anthony Rother, Ravn Jonassen, JakoJako, Jensen Interceptor, Alienata, Nite Fleit and David Carretta.
Over the last few years electro has had a massive resurgence.
Since then, a new generation of producers has taken the genre under the microscope, recombining classic tropes and influences in new ways. CYRK is among the list of artists consistently pushing all things electro to new heights with forward thinking, dancefloor shattering and bass-heavy concoctions ready to turn your favorite club dance floor into a sea of spaced-out euphoria.
Early 2020, they decided to reach out to some of their producer friends as well as artists they’ve been admiring for years, to collaborate on tracks. As they see it, the electro scene is a very close-knit community and it felt more than appropriate to support each other this way.
A few emails were sent, a few calls made, and a list of heavy-hitters was assembled to exchange files and jam together remotely or in-person in CYRK’s basement studio: Klakson and Dolly label owner Steffi, Anthony Rother, Burial Soil label buddy Ravn Jonassen, JakoJako, Jensen Interceptor, Alienata, Nite Fleit and French veteran David Carretta.
BPMs are high on the eight tracks of “Freundschaft”, the end result of this collaborative process, incorporating various influences from electro-adjacent styles like italo, EBM or, unsurprisingly, techno.
The beautiful cover art was created by Oliver Sperl.

Prolific Tokyo based French artist Fleck E.S.C makes his second appearance on Bass Agenda Recordings (the first being his remix for The Bokanovsky Process in 2013).

Fleck E.SC has made appearances on numerous labels with each release showing some development in his sound; always positive and always keeping his fans hungry for what he might do next; fortunately he is not one to rest long, seemingly flooded with ideas.

Where others may choose big, polished and fat modular sounds he has preference for low-fi digital sounds, peppering his unmistakable machine grooves. This brings about the perfect audio dilemma between almost retro computer sounds and what is undeniably an overall sound and vibe that is some of the genre's finest modern works. The result is an equal nod of respect to the past and the genre's founders, whilst feeling good about pushing things forward.
