A version of a Mike Ness tune called Ballad of a Lonely Man. It's tough for me to sing anything by Mr. Ness without giving a mediocre impression of his inflection, so perhaps you can look past that, and the character of an imperfect recording, to find some listening enjoyment. This was another recording during practice at the church, on my phone.

I recorded a few tunes last night and because I was sick and stuffed up, I thought I sounded a little like Leonard Cohen, so I recorded this one while the mojo was working.

My cover of "Fools Rush In" (1940) The lyrics were written by Johnny Mercer with music by Rube Bloom. You may notice my fave version is by Elvis. This was recorded at The Church, during the evening of 3/15/14 on a Snowball Mic.

Fools Rush In (Where Angles fear to tread)

A version of Hank Williams "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry". Williams wrote the song in 1949, originally intending that the words be spoken, rather than sung, as he had done on several of his Luke the Drifter recordings. The song about loneliness may have been inspired by his troubled relationship with wife Audrey Sheppard. I always think of my Father, shown in the associated picture, circa 1950's, when I sing this one, after losing his wife of 50 years, my Mother. He wants for no company anymore, just sits in his house smoking Lucky Strikes, with COPD, at the age of 84. I can't say I blame him. I actually took my pen name from his love of those cigarettes. Anyway, this one was recorded in the evening of 3/15/14, at The Church, using a snowball mic and a laptop with Audacity. I hope you find some beauty in the sorrow.

I'm Lucky Lonesome and I roam solo, amigo. With seemingly no way to climb out of this dark mine of the mind, I try to ease the pain by understanding that misery is not biased and that we all have to find a little darkness in the light now and again, don't we? Most of these tunes are just stuff I record on my phone while practicing for gigs. I do hope you enjoy, what finds your ear and I assure you that I am much obliged and honored to have you stop by.
