Gonza Castrillon - From Other Place

On our new Chrom release, we proudly welcome Geuzz from Belgium — a DJ whose career took off after performing at Tomorrowland. During the Covid pandemic, Geuzz turned his creative energy toward music production, quickly securing releases on Belgian labels such as Deep House Belgium and Deep In Your Soul. His music has attracted remixers like Enoo Napa, &lez and Aytiwan, while gaining global support from influential DJs including Black Coffee, Fideles, Magdalena, Maxim Lany and Shimza.

On his Chrom EP, Geuzz presents two fresh original tracks. The title track "Disconnected Souls" stands out as an emotive masterpiece that made its premiere with great success at our ADE 2025 Chrom Showcase, played by our label manager Pedro Mercado.

PREMIERE: Geuzz - Disconnected Souls [Chrom Recordings]

Earlier this year my friend Atik Yomin  (@othiqivmin) „challenged“ me to write an album consisting of tracks in odd meters only after listening to my track ‚Trickle’ which is written in 5/4.

Then in early September I got my hands on a decent trigger sequencer by Doepfer (Thanks to @synthetic-arts !) and to test it in depth together with my crazy Bigger Dumber Sequencer by Beers, I pretty much immediately started this odd times project, and three weeks later finished it. Believe me, I had a blast! 

First up, as always, is the last track I made. It comes in 8/8 – counting 123 123 12 – and in the end it comes back 'into balance', landing on a straight four on the floor rhythm.

Her artistic vision draws from social movements, urban environments, and the emotional dynamics of shared spaces, allowing her to craft performances that resonate on both sonic and human levels. Musically, her signature lies in a refined sense of texture, an instinct for narrative progression, and the ability to blend intricate rhythms with atmospheric depth. Whether navigating hypnotic techno, broken patterns, or slow-burning experimental forms, she shapes each set as an evolving story, meticulously constructed yet always alive and responsive to the moment. For her, sound is a living medium—a way to reimagine how we inhabit spaces, relate to one another, and confront the world around us. This Deep Breakfast session offers a window into her unique sensibility and the worlds she builds through music.
