Bossa Nova is a style of samba, originating in Brazil. Over the years it has taken many forms and shapes and has been transformed many times. It has it's roots in Afro-Brazilian music. It was also a subtle form of protest music during the time of the military regime. Bossa Nova takes an important role in Brazil's cultural identity and history. 
This mix explores some different takes on the genre, with a slight focus on the international evolution it has taken. It's not an accurate overview over the genre, just some songs that I picked.
