Live recorded, dark and heavy afro tech set I played this past weekend. I've always struggled with posting sets because I'm a perfectionist so if there's anything I don't like, my automatic reaction is not to post the mix. I've come to realise that imperfection is part of our craft as DJ's and there's nothing wrong with it. I feel it actually gives us a certain level of credibility that we are mixing live and that we can fix mistakes.

This is the next step in becoming comfortable with that process. Most of the mixes I've posted have been recorded at home, or early in the evening at gigs. Mixing for a crowd and at prime time is a COMPLETELY different style of mixing and not really one that works for set recordings. This is one of those mixes, I played at midnight at a packed out club. So a lot of the decisions I made were based on the crowd and the way the club sounded, not the flow of a curated mix. It makes me pretty uncomfortable but I really enjoyed this set and I want to share it. Anyway, throw on some good headphones or connect to some decent sound and enjoy the mix.
