"Little Dreams" is a five-movement piece for standard woodwind quintet that is inspired by some of my memories of childhood. Specifically, the piece deals with a child's constantly changing answers to that all-pervasive question, "What do you want to do when you grow up?"
Each of the movements represents a different character based on an occupation I used to dream of being when I was a child, and each character is represented by a motive introduced in the first movement as the first 5-7 notes each individual instrument plays. The idea behind this is that even though each of these instruments (and each of their corresponding characters) is vastly different, the piece would not be whole without them, just as I would not be who I am today without those memories. For me, this piece is about remembering one's roots and reflecting on personal growth.

This was a short piece I made using found sounds, a synthesizer, and Ableton Live. It's meant to evoke feelings of fear and suspense, similar to the kind of music you might find in a horror video game.

The Black Door

This piece was my first major commission after graduating from college. It is inspired by Frederick Douglass' speech, "What, to the American Slave, is the Fourth of July?" The director who commissioned this piece wanted it to be a tribute to his students, many of whom are refugees who have lived their whole lives in political turmoil. The music, similarly to the speech, begins with a patriotic theme that quickly moves into a more serious, angrier tone, and finishes with a resounding melody of hope for a brighter future.

What is the Fourth of July?

This is the outro theme to a podcast my friends and I ran for a short while in which we played Warhammer 40k: Dark Heresy, a science fiction role-playing game based in a grim future where war is all around and the players fly from planet to planet, carrying out the will of mankind's Emperor. The show didn't last very long, as the game itself is rather confusing and difficult to play, but I enjoyed writing the music for it, and thought it turned out rather well.

This is a short loop I created for a YouTube series where my partner and I talk about transgenderism and all our experiences with it. It is a simple theme meant to generate feelings of warmth and comfort as we discuss potentially heavy subjects.

Gender Adventures YouTube Channel Theme

This is the title track to an album I am still working on as a gift for my role-playing friends. When the project is finished, it will be a soundtrack to all their stories of past adventures. Since the game is based largely in a group of islands known as The True Isles (hence the name), I figured it was fitting to base the soundtrack largely on themes of adventure and fantasy which we hear so often in pirate and sailing music.
