Hello friends, welcome back to ALTROVE.

This month we’re glad to feature Lucy D.T., a Zurich-based DJ who’s been immersed in the hypnotic techno movement for nearly a decade. Her sound blends atmosphere and rhythm with a strong emotional core ,creating mixes that are immersive, textured, and deeply intentional.

In early 2025, she launched ABUNDANCE, a podcast dedicated to exploring the ethereal side of techno and offering space for more introspective expressions.

"Heaven on Earth", Site-specific mirror installation in Trevizo, Italy, 2014 Shirin Abedinirad's:
Heaven on Earth" (2014) stands as a profound meditation on perception, spirituality, and the transformative power of light. This site-specific installation, presented in Italy, employs a deceptively simple yet deeply meaningful arrangement of mirrors placed on steps to create an otherworldly experience that literally brings fragments of sky down to earth. 

The installation embodies Abedinirad's signature approach to creating surrealistic interventions in natural landscapes. The artist crafts an optical phenomenon that defies conventional spatial understanding. The reflected blue sky creates the illusion of clouds floating on the ground, transforming solid concrete into what appears to be a luminous celestial lake. This visual trick generates a moment of cognitive dissonance that forces viewers to question their fundamental assumptions about the relationship between earth and sky, material and ethereal. By using mirrors to capture, redirect, and multiply natural light, Abedinirad creates what she describes as a "paradise", a space where the ordinary laws of physics appear suspended and viewers experience an enhanced sense of spirituality through the intensification of illumination. 

The installation's power lies in its ability to create a moment of complete spatial disorientation. When viewers ascend the stairs and look down, they encounter not solid ground but a reflection of infinite sky. This reversal creates what the artist describes as a desire to "jump into the light" - a metaphorical leap of faith that speaks to humanity's eternal longing for transcendence. The physical act of climbing becomes a spiritual journey, with each step bringing the viewer closer to a revelation that challenges their understanding of reality. 
By transforming a mundane staircase into a portal between earthly and celestial realms, Abedinirad demonstrates how art can serve as a bridge between the physical and metaphysical worlds, offering viewers a glimpse of paradise within the everyday landscape.

Observing Lucy D.T. at the controls for her MuséeCast session is to witness a focused, meticulously arranged, almost architectural approach to sound. The set opens with the gentle invitation “Look up at the sky. Follow me.” - a nod to the chosen artwork. From the outset, a spacious, reflective atmosphere unfolds as she builds a bridge between heaven and earth, reality and dream, weaving airy and tribal elements with synthetic and organic textures, capturing the vastness of the sky above and hinting at an exploration of paradise and spirituality.

Working across three decks, she shapes a multilayered narrative in which tracks dissolve into one another. As the sonic journey unfolds, a subtle, hypnotic pulse emerges from the ambient wash - a rhythm that feels discovered rather than imposed. Her eclectic selections reveal a clear curatorial sensibility, navigating through techno, minimal, electronica and hints of downtempo and house while consistently retaining her deep, hypnotic signature.

A rising sense of euphoria, carried by dreamy, spherical melodies, gives the set its optimistic lift. This ascent invites listeners to journey upward - to walk in the sky. The mix unfolds as an uplifting, immersive, and ethereal experience, making it a perfectly suited auditory exhibition for the MuséeCast platform.
