PREMIERE: Ronny Pinazza - Cave (Alex Tirelli Remix) [Indefinite Pitch]

Pact Infernal's debut release 'The Descent [Chapter I] arrived in early 2015 on Samurai Horo. A slow flock of unexpected, but very welcomed, fans from outside of the labels normal market began to build. One of the more exciting admirers of the Pact Infernal EP was Berlin based Lucy who offered to rework 'Chapter I' into his own stylistic interpretations. The resultant 2 remixes incorporate elements from all 4 tracks on the first EP into 2 long pulsing, hypnotic grooves. If subtlety was the main instrument of the originals, Lucy's versions refine that instrument into a new form and sprinkle carefully plucked references delicately around his sinuous rhythms. Over 25 minutes of delightful audio hypnosis from one of the electronic worlds favourite individual voices.

Adding to previous 12“es on Ostgut Ton and his own RK label fellow Neuköllner and Berghain resident Kobosil offers four new uncompromising Techno club tools.

While all cuts on the 105 release share filthy, stone-cold, elemental rhythms – pounding, energetic and hypnotic 4/4 kick drum slaps – the devil is, like with all Kobosil productions, in the aesthetic details. “40000 L” uses gargling synth patterns and howling horns to dramatic effect; “Bei Nacht H (178)” contrasts the kick with a harsh, tinny drumbeat and menacing melody pad, creating a nightmarish vibe.
“Backmask N” on B1 offers heavily alienated vocal samples alongside rave-reminiscing synth stabs and staggered hi-hat percussion. “Derange” closes this four-tracker with grainy drone echoes and throbbing, sizzling synth pulses.

Adding to Kobosil’s full-floor-focussed sonic repertoire 105 shows him from his darkest and most vigorous side yet – this 12“ is a brute, in the most positive sense.

Solidarity in Times of Corona means: #leavenoonebehind
We’re experiencing an unparalleled humanitarian, sanitary and political catastrophe. In face of the global Corona-Pandemic we need to act solidly united more than ever and support those who are particularly affected. Those are the elderly, poor, homeless, immunocompromised people and moreover the refugees and displaced people at the European borders.

For how long can a person bear the inhumane conditions at the EU-borders? The circumstances in the camps on the Greek islands have been worsening for years. People seeking protection on the Greek islands and at the borders are exposed to heavy violence and systematic discrimination. Greece and the EU have in fact abolished basic human rights and the right for asylum in the past weeks. Refugees are being fired at, the conditions in camps like Moria are purposely kept inhumanely because the EU aims to deter those seeking shelter. Lawlessness is dominating where solidarity and humanity are needed the most. The situation in the overcrowded camps is disastrous and it lacks everything from medical aid to basic sanitary needs. The people are defencelessly exposed to the pandemic as they are trapped and isolated on the islands. Protective measures which are being carried out on the European mainland are simply impossible to be employed in the camps. (See more: seebruecke.org/leave-no-one-behind/)

In Moria, water is becoming rare and is distributed in dangerously low rations – immediate support is required now. Based on the statement by the NGO Seebrücke our collective has decided to publish a Soli-compilation as quick as possible. The compilation will be divided into 3 EPs which will be released on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday of the coming week. A variety of artists – 16 in total – from many different genres of electronic music will be on the release, contributing to the project. We are aware that this is only a drop in the bucket in times like these. However, any form of solidarity is needed at the moment . Lucy is the nom de techno of Italian-born and Berlin-based Luca Mortellaro, one of the genre’s most exciting and ambitious DJ/producers. Since 2009, Mortellaro has focused his work through his own Stroboscopic Artefacts label, building an imprint and personal discography that has established itself as one of techno’s finest.
Lucy (née Luca Mortellaro) is one of the pre-eminent sonic adventurers of his time. Not bound to conventional pre-conceptions of what an electronic musician, producer, or DJ must be, Lucy has evolved his distinct sound signature by reconciling the deeply personal with the esoteric, and by harmonizing the spheres of technology and biology. In doing so, he has become rare as an artist, in his ability to please an audience while also introducing them to elements they were not yet familiar with and thereby pushing them out of their comfort zone. Whether he is acting in the role of producer, DJ, performer, or Stroboscopic Artefacts’ curator, Lucy’s clear passion for creative evolution and mutation is something that continues to attract new listeners, and keeps giving his current supporters new reasons to continue tuning in.
