The song is based on a true story of a young girl that was murdered in an old, abandoned house out in the woods. She wanted a peaceful place to write a story and stumbled upon the house while hiking. She herself, was writing a story about a very young girl that was murdered in a 1000 year old English Abbey when she became separated from her family, back in the early 70's. Both stories are tragically real and the song touches on certain things related to the facts around both cases. There was a suspect in the latter case, but he was never convicted. We tried to put some closure to this unfinished story by creating a situation where the killer lived with tremendous guilt and finally ended it all by burning himself and his place to the ground.
